I visited more than 50Ryokans in Japan This property has quite a facinating facility since this is very old traditional Ryokan but Quality of the food was the worst Out of 50Ryokan i visited, i was always impressed or Satisfied with the food in Japan but not with this one. さらに表示

Absolutely a must see. Our room was Tabuki & it was next to the river. This locations was breath taking. Plenty of space. We had our own bath tube, sink & toilet. The price was great as well & it included breakfast. さらに表示

We are so honored to be able to stay at such a beautiful architects like Japanese treasure. I recommend to take a tour to learn about Arai Ryokan's history. You can sign up the tour at the front desk. Atomasphere inside Is beyond description. Nice garden, nice hot springs. Staffs are so polite and always ready to serve. The food was very satisfying. I visited Arai Ryokan 4 times in the past. My husband and I are looking forward to going back there again soon. I really recommend my dear friends to try this spot. さらに表示

Traditional Japanese style hospitality, the hotel has history with well maintain infrastructure, the garden inside the hotel was really great. The service really feels like home. Dinner and breakfast is awesome. The area around the hotel is also worth spend time for a walk. Before leaving hotel, staff will have a photo taken in front of the hotel, which was great. Our stay was amazing, as second time visitors to Arai Ryokan (first time 2006 we were childless and this time 2015 we came with our son) we were so happy to see the place being run really well. We wanted our son to have an appreciation of a ryokan experience and were so happy with the welcoming environment at Arai. From the moment we arrived it was like being transported back in time. We all changed into traditional Yukata and the enjoyment began. We had an Onsen and after this our dinner was prepared and delivered to our room. An amazing array of food was presented at our bedroom table. A truly memorable meal and our room staff (Terashima was incredibly patient with our meagre Japanese). Also another staff member, Hitomi, was incredibly fluent in English and she also eased the way for our son and ourselves. The two new Onsen rooms Suiren and I can't remember the name of the other but were both gorgeous. Newly built and integrated seamlessly into the original fabric of the building these two new Onsen had thae beautiful fresh scent of Hinoki Pine. I can't recommend Arai enough, go and enjoy yourself. This place is awesome. It is a little bit of work to get to, but once you arrive, you will be glad you made the extra effort to go little off of the beaten path. Traditional style ryokan that has onsite indoor and outdoor onsens. Meal plan includes the kaiseki dinner and breakfast - get the meal plan! Premises is beautiful with koi ponds and lush greenery; it is located up against a river and bamboo forest. Staff is friendly, but only limited English. I don't speak any Japanese, but was able to get by fine with a lot of pointing and hand gestures. If I ever make it back to Japan, I will 100% come back to visit. さらに表示

This Ryokan hotel is quite old but clean. The baths are small in size and do not have good views. The room was average . I believe the high ratings are somewhat overstated. Breakfast served in the room was fine. さらに表示
