Most hotels in onsen area usually cater for couple or twin share if not charge you a double room rate for single. This Ryokan has two or so single room (smaller no view but functional) and price for a single person half board. Book early if you wish to secure this limited room otherwise you pay the price of what a 2pax will pay. Location is a bit of walk to busy shopping area of town but still manageable as hotel kindly provide shuttle if needed さらに表示

Everything was great apart from the location. It is not the location of the hotel, it is the location of the place (Arima Onsen). It’s so hard to get there, would only recommend if you drive there instead of taking public transport. Although there are direct buses from Osaka or Kyoto, we are a group of 3 travelling from overseas and carrying large check in luggages, direct buses only allows less than 10kg carry on, which we had no choice but to take 3-4 train rides to get there with our large luggage. It was a hassle! Apart from that, service was excellent at the hotel! Really enjoyed the breakfast and lunch there :) さらに表示

For a taste of japan I would recommend this ryokan. I say this because food was very good, and we got the in-room onsen which was fantastic, service was top notch but no one in the hotel could speak english! Lucky we’re from bilingual Singapore so we could understand the 1 and only 1 staff who could speak some chinese. My only gripe is the room WIFI was awfully slow.. i had to go to the lobby to download my daily newspapers! さらに表示

We've chosen the Japanese style room with outdoor spa. Though the room itself was air conditioned, with the lowest temperature we have already set, we felt a bit hot and stuffy. Lucky that they got a fan. Yet, the quilt they provided was thick, you could not really use it for such an environment. The massage chair was kind of old. The dinner and breakfast were ok. What added most value to this hotel was their staff and services provided. Very helpful and friendly staff with good standard of English. Free pick up provided from and to the Hotel. We contacted them for pick up via FB messenger. And the staff also offered help to reserve bus tickets to Kyoto when we left. さらに表示

Great hotel with food and hot spring, it's the best relaxing day I've never had in Japan. Just realize, you need pay hot spring tax 150yen per person, but it doesn't matter.Hotel still good with facilities. さらに表示

I loved this place. It was clean and traditional. The onsens were great with open air being an option and they also switched up the men's and woman's side daily so we can experience all the tubs. Some of the water was like the town spa Kin no Yu so you don't even have to go into town to experience that! You had your own private tub in room if you were too shy for a public bath. We got too try Japanese Kaiseki cuisine in room (quite a bit expensive though considered already what we paid). The staff were fabulous and extremely friendly. Even if they couldn't understand English they tried really hard. We did not know that you had to reserve the JR buses in advance the morning we were leaving and within 5 minutes they had us reservations and a shuttle to get us there on time! It was quite a walk to and from the bus stop uphill since the ryokan is near the back of town. My favorite accomandation in Japan so far. さらに表示

A very fantastic ryokan which is overall clean and comfortable. However, the management needs to make the following improvements to make the ryokan a perfect ryokan which can be given 6 stars:- 1) the mattres (shikibuton) is " not padded" and fully covered by the bed sheet (the texture of the mattres is partially exposed and the mattress is not too clean) 2) The quality, texture of the duvet (kakebuton) andthe duvet cover are not too satisfactory taking into account of the standard of the rykan. May be the management should invest in proving better quality and fabric texture of the mattress sheet and duvet cover to match up to that of a 5 stars ryokan ; & 3) the quality of the bath towels (thin texture and brownish colour ) are not too satisfactory for a 5 stars ryokan. さらに表示

Took bus from kobe-sanomiya station. Took 30 minutes and 700 yen for express bus. After arrived, stopped by at arima tourist center. Lady at the center called them for pick up service. Driver came within 5 minutes. Left luggages and went for rokko ropeway. Beautiful mountain. Within 10 minutes walking. Recommend trying since you are in the area. Enjoyed onsen, dinner & breakfast. Took us back to the bus terminal next day. Very clean very nice staffs. Will stay 2 nights next time. Worth every penny. Book in advance to enjoy good deal. さらに表示

The only two things to be improve is to offer adjustment for room tempurture as the room is too stuffy if heating is on. Another thing is the water boiler, it takes really long time to get the water heated さらに表示

We booked the half board plan and it came with a huge dinner & breakfast which had all sorts of japanese food you can imagine! Staff was so accommodating, they managed to arrange for last minute meal request by replacing beef with fish as i forgot to tell them prior to arrival (thank you so much!!). There were 2 onsens, one for male and the other for female, and they swapped every day so we can experience both. One other thing i need to mention is their bathroom (inside the room), it was super new and clean and high tech!! The toilet has motion sensor and the shower is electronically controlled. Their suite with the private hot spring was clean and spacious, not to mention tasty and filling breakfast and dinner (we took Kaiseki for both nights). Staff was helpful and courteous. It is some walking distance from the stations but transport can be arranged free of charge. Overall a great experience. さらに表示

Customer service was superb! Enjoyed every bit of the stay, esp the yummy dinner and breakfast. First time experience of the onsen and no worries at all as they explained to you upon arrival in details what to expect and do for the onsen. Definitely will visit again if have chance. さらに表示

Staff were impeccable and very friendly. No issues with pick up/drop off to Arimaonsen Hankyu bus terminal. Onsen were great and clean. Very unique experience with the gold onsen compared to the usual clear water that you get elsewhere. Dinner was absolutely delicious, however breakfast was a little boring and underwhelming. Only issue we had was when the staff packed away our futons before breakfast, they also took away our yukata that we placed on the floor. This discouraged us to use the public onsen in the morning as we didn't have a yukata to wear. Only after checking out and arriving at our next destination did we notice that the undergarments that were hidden in the yukata were also taken away by staff when they took it in the morning. There is a bus with a specified time of 10:10am pick up from the Arimaonsen bus terminal to the Kobe-Sanda Premium outlet only on weekends and holidays for 600? yen. Otherwise, you can catch a 20-30minute taxi ride for roughly 5000 yen one way. さらに表示

Even the hotel is far from the train station, shuttle car is provided. The superior room with outdoor hot spring is excellent. I enjoyed the massage chair too. Though it is a bit over my budget, it is worth coming. さらに表示
