We arrived after a bit of a trek and was warmly met by Kay at reception. The ròom was comfortable but basic. We had a siesta and went to the bar/resturant at 21:10 which was pretty empty. We asked for the bar snack menu but was told that the kitchen had closed at 20:30 as they were not busy. We hadn't expected that! We asked what our options were and it was to walk (we didn't know our way in dark and snow) into town (15 minutes). We went without! The next night we arrived at 7pm and were told that we couldn't sit at any of the empty tables ( 10 tables only 3 used) as we hadn't bòked 24hrs in advance! They at least said they would taxi us into town which we accepted. Before finishing our drink we were told that actually they could entertain us. We looked at the very limited menu and decided that the 150gram steak for ¥5000 each (no sides) was a bit rich and went into town. 225g steak with sides ¥1500. This hotel is very worth the price we paid for. We did not expect the hotel to have Australian staff and management. So English speaking, recommend, information is completely make my trip wonderful. Room is very big, nice and cozy. Super clean. The room is big and the bed is very comfy and the comfort room is also very spacious. Shower and hot water is very flow, strong. it refresh me after a long tiring day roaming around Hakuba. The hotel is centrally located in the best area of Hakuba, very close to Ski place. a 3-5 minute shutter bus from hotel. Breakfast is quite good and quality. The area is nice like you see in photos and very quiet at night. The staff is also very cordial and attentive to our needs. Overall, I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends when they go to Hakuba. さらに表示

From the moment when we arrived in Hakuba we found the staff most helpful and accomodating when they came to collect us from the Happo bus terminal and drive us to the hotel and they were happy to help us to plan and book almost everything from tours to restaurant bookings and drive us down to the Happo area for our ski hire fitting and they also ran free daily shuttles to the closer ski resorts. The restaurant served delicious but not Japanese food and was quite expensive to be honest and the drinks weren't exactly cheap either outside of happy hour but Double black did have a really nice bar vibe and was quite enjoyable everyday after the slopes and the onsen baths were awesome I used it everyday and never even used my shower once. The rooms were small but clean and pleasent although they could get quite cold in winter the first night of our stay it was -15 at night and the heaters didn't cope so we had to request extra blankets which they provided for us, rooms near the onsen could get quite noisey at night. The location of the hotel was quite good for restaurants and shuttle bus stop and had a great ambience and wasn't to close to the action or too far in my opinion さらに表示
