Dozen is a 10 minute walk to Kyoto Station. It is clean with comfortable rooms and plenty of facilities (toilets, showers, sinks) for shared use. The breakfast bento box was a yummy way to start the day! The staff was friendly and helpful. Truly, Dozen was an oasis after a busy day of touring. Thank you Dozen! We hope to be back again! さらに表示

Dozen ryokan doesn’t have any private bath house like the other ryokan and breakfast option are minimum. It is more like japanized backpacker instead of a ryokan but priced like one. It is clean like all the hotels in Japan are. But the wifi was off the second day and the bath soap run out in the last 2 days of our stay and was not replaced even though we have already informasi the receptionist. さらに表示

had a wonderful stay here, it was the highlight of my two weeks travelling around Japan, the location is really brilliant, the staff were so kind and spoke really good English (which is a massive bonus in Japan!) the beds were really comfy, the room was really warm and we had a wonderful view of the Japanese garden in the middle of the Ryokan which was lovely, people staying there were very considerate of the thin walls and I didn't get woken up once. Only downside was shared showers and sinks but they were very clean and I rarely saw anyone so not all bad! If you come to Kyoto you should stay here! さらに表示

We spent 4 days in Kyoto. This is very close to Kyoto Station just 10 mins walk. The building is very new with Ryokan style. The breakfast is buffet. Rice or Bread and juice , Coffee. The room was very clean including the toilet. I hope to visit again Overall, Very GOOD さらに表示

We enjoyed our stay at Dozen Ryokan! Although the building is quite old, it was very comfortable and cozy. Every aspect of our stay was well taken care of. The ryokan prepares a simple but delicious breakfast every morning. Location is perfect as it is walking distance from Kyoto station, we can take the last train back and walk to the ryokan. We were a group of 5, placed in one large but very comfortable room. The ryokan is just a very close walk from the station, the staff speak excellent English, the rooms, loo and showers are very clean, and there is a free water from the dispenser upstairs. Finally, the rice breakfast was divine! Definitely will be my choice for a budget accommodation in Kyōto. さらに表示

well, The stay was a nice experience. I will not do it for more than one night! It was very difficult to sleep on the floor. From the pictures I thought the futon will be a little thicker. It was cold in the room for us. I am glad we experienced it but I will not do it again. さらに表示

The most expensive stay during 14 day trip with the least value for money. Bread for breakfast moldy, towel dirty. Shared bathroom and toilet hardly clean. Same for the room: a hairpin of preceding guests indicates negligent cleaning, the tatami smelled. A receipt neither during checkin nor checkout was not given. Room Very loud for thin paper walls to other guest's rooms and loud street. We had such fantastic hotels during 14 day's trip in Tokio & Kyoto, especially in Kyoto's Gion neighborhood, but this one was just a big fail. However well placed close to JR station for trips to Osaka, Nara, Hiroshima, Miyajama etc. Would not recommend. さらに表示

Booked thinking it would be more of a traditional ryokan. It was more of a hostel. Staff was excellent though. I did pay about the same for other hotels in japan with private bathrooms, nice beds, and bigger rooms just to note. Biggest gripe is the value. さらに表示

Our train from Nagoya to Takayama was cancelled (damaged track), we had to book the bus and couldn't speak Japanese. Haruka helped us book the bus, she went above and beyond her normal duties to call the bus company twice. She even printed out the information and map for us and texted me to inform me of the details. I am grateful to her helpfulness and highly recommend this ryokan. さらに表示

We stayed two nights and had a wonderful time. The man who did our check-in was very kind and helpful, and spoke excellent English. The room was a nice size, very clean and well maintained. The bathrooms were clean, and the breakfast was very tasty. The location was central to everything and very close to Kyoto station. I would absolutely recommend staying here. さらに表示

If i was not mistaken, the hotel is already 100 years old, however it is well maintained therefore the building is still remained on a good shape. The receptionist who checked me in was not as friendly as other hotels we had in japan, but other staffs were really lovely! - one person’s fault doesnt ruin your stay, right? Location is only 5 minutes walk from the main station, although you need to venture into an alley to find your accommodation. The ryokan provides very simple buffet breakfast, both japanese and western. Dont expect many selections! さらに表示

The place is located close (10 min walking) to Kyoto Station (a key spot to easily reach all the main attractions in Kyoto using the public transportations). Staff very nice and professional, place clean and cozy. A good choice where to stay while visiting Kyoto. さらに表示

The room was nice and clean. We had one for ourselves and a key so we could leave our stuff there during the day. The breakfast was surprisingly good, having both Japanese and Western options. We wanted to try out a ryokan, we thoroughly enjoyed this been our first hotel of the trip, however I was looking forward to having a bed after 2 days. Cute rooms and very clean toilets and facilities! Conveniently located near the train and town Only criticism would be the breakfast, I was hoping for something more traditional and they just provide bread and preserves, yogurt and some rice. which did the job to start the day but not the Japanese experience I was hoping for.
