場所は、駅から歩けるし運河からも近いのでとても便利です。 チェックインが13時からと早いのもよいのでは。 トイレ、バスが部屋になく共用は仕方がないが、その割には料金が高い。 女性風呂の脱衣場が、なんだかすぐ隣の男性風呂入り口あたりから見えそうな作りで、非常に嫌だった。 雪まつりシーズンだからかもしれないがそこまでのお金を出す価値は無い。 チェックインの際に、何も手続きがなかったが、後から部屋に次々と2人来て宿帳もらい忘れたから書いてくださいと。手際が悪い？ 翌朝は朝食の前に部屋で着替えていたら、突然なんのノック等もなく、宿のおばさんに襖を開けられました。間違えたのだとは思いますが、あれはなんだったのでしょうか？普通に旅館でそういうことはありえません。 朝食は、品数も多くそれなりに良かったです。 相対的にはお値段がやすい時期なら泊まってもよいから宿かと思います。 さらに表示

お風呂・トイレが共同でした。お風呂が、前に入られた方がお湯を抜いてしまっており、シャワーになってしまいました。お若い方はあまりご存知ないかもしれませんが、共同浴場の場合、次の方のためにお湯はぬかないでください。 運河などへも徒歩で移動でき、スタッフさんたちも素晴らしく快適でした。朝食もおいしく、おすすめのお宿です。 さらに表示

23:40に予約が取れたので、指定した午前1:00過ぎに行くと、20分間全く玄関が開かず待たされました。また、旅館の方に予約をしたのか疑われ、ありえないといわれました。その後も旅館がこんな時間に普通は泊めないと文句を言われました。一人で泊まったのですが料金は一部屋分の2人分かかりました。その記述がなかったので驚きました。朝食付きでとったのですが、朝食は出してもらえず、返金1000円を頂きました。 さらに表示

I very much enjoyed the experience of this traditional japanese place. It is easy to reach from the train station, staff was informed about the reservation and everything was prepared. Even with little English knowledge the helpful and friendly staff made us smile and understood to fulfill any inquiery we had. While getting there was slightly arduous (we had to drag our heavy luggage through snow and ice), everything after we arrived was great. We were speedily checked in, had hot water waiting for us in the room with a potful of tea leaves, and were generally made to feel very at home. The location of the ryokan is excellent; just around the corner from the appealing Sakaimachi street (a must visit) and also just a few minutes from the Otaru canal (also a must visit, especially at night!) Recommended if you want a Ryokan experience in charming Otaru. さらに表示

This is a basic Japanese style inn where bathrooms are shared (segregated between sexes). Room was spacious and futons comfortable. It's close to the main shopping areas of Otaru and parking is free. Location of Ryokan is good, not far from station and Otaru canal. Very clean and comfort room, room is large and cheap than other hotel although the festival time. Not have a private shower and restroom, public bathroom are clean, the hot tub very small さらに表示

A simple but nice ryokan for anyone who wants to try out Japanese ryokan in a rather affordable budget. Some ryokan can be very expensive. But Etchuya ryokan is reasonably priced with very good breakfast. Location is in a quiet street, but not too difficult to access. One thing to be considered before booking, if you are really reluctant to the concept of a common bath or shared bathroom, you should book an ensuite with your own bathroom. Otherwise, you should be able to enjoy your stay and relax at this ryokan as much as I did. Will definitely come back for our next trip in Otaru. さらに表示

This was our first time staying in a ryokan and we enjoyed the experience very much. The front desk was staffed at all times but were not very helpful in telling us how the place works, so we were left quite unsure of what to expect. Maybe a printout in English with essential information on it would make things easier for foreign guests. We loved some of the authentic ryokan touches that Etchuya provided such as the indoor robes, bath houses and traditional rooms. The facilities were very clean and the staff running them were very efficient, especially with providing breakfast and turning over our room from dayroom to bedroom and back. However, the baths in both the male and female bath houses were too hot to sit in for any length of time, which was disappointing as we were looking forward to having a nice soak. We were very happy with the comfort level of the futons (beds), though the pillows were small and a little too hard. The free Wi-Fi there was reliable and easy to use. We would love to have stayed there for more than just one night but the cost was an obstacle, although Etchuya was better priced than all of the other ryokans I came across online. at first we thought it was price because of last minute booking. then we realise that dinner was included and it taste so good. The inn keeper is friendly and helpful. To those who has no idea what is japanese style bath room, basically it has a area where you shower yourself on a stool then proceed to the bath tub. the bath room can fit 2 person at the same time. it is worth staying if you can to try japanese style accommodation in Japan. Some may mentioned that no private bath room and toilet, but hey, this is how we experience their culture right? さらに表示

Etchuya Ryokan is just a few blocks from Otaru's major attractions, and easy walking distance from the train station. The breakfasts were above average quality, and the room was spacious and impeccably kept up. The staff were friendly and accommodating. If you stay here, I recommend trying Otaru Bine, a restaurant just around the corner from Etchuya Ryokan. They have decent food and prices as well as excellent service. さらに表示
