- Near Kyoto Station and clean. - We could not sleep because of the noise of walking step and talking people in adjacent rooms. It was like a drum right into our ears as the sleeping mattresses were on the floor. We even could feel the vibration of the floor when people walked. - The rooms are on the second floor with no elevator. Heavy luggage is an issue. さらに表示

If you're merely looking for a place to comfortably sleep, this is the place to be. The owner was very accommodating. If you have a heavy luggage though, it is quite difficult to bring it up the flight of stairs to the bedrooms. The location is awesome though, very near Kyoto station. さらに表示

The only advantage of this place is near to Kyoto Station and no other facilities.The kitchen is without any gas stove and no any plates, bowls or any vessels for even using at Oven which is there. Bread Toaster is broken one. Coffee powder and Tea there but no sugar. No one to take care and after taking full money nobody bothers. Not worth the amount paid. The mattress were good, the over all cleanliness is good. Location is good. However, our room was below the stairs, you can hear the people using the stairs, those sleeping above, beside and using the toilet. You can hear the snoring. The air conditioner smells from cigarette. Most if the guests are from Hongkong and Korea and they are noisy coming home late. さらに表示

The walk from Kyoto Station takes about 9 minutes. The 6-guests room we booked is the most spacious we had seen in Japan. But since we were only a couple, the host told us not to use the extra pillows and blankets which I don't really get since I was paying for that room price. I loved how homey the home feels. The toilets and shower room are clean. The kitchen is fantastic. The futons you can sink in and unwind after a long day because it's sooo comfortable. It is very clean and not so far from Kyoto station. Otherwise, there is no point to go there. Not personalised at all, cold atmosphere. Kitchen is not a real kitchen since you can't cook. We are really disappointed about this location. They don’t speak English at all. We arrived at 7 pm and nobody was there to check us in. After some calls we could arrange that somebody showed up. He told us that we had no reservation. We showed him our reservation paper, then He gave us a room with old bedsheets and hair of the some guests before us. We ask for the internet access code (free internet was advertised), his response was just: No! In the morning we could not shower as there was no water. The building was ice cold. It's near to Kyoto station (5 minute walk) which connects to all lines. The owner is also friendly. I love the super room: spacious, nice and very comfortable futons. I love this place! It's suitable for low budget trip such as backpackers. さらに表示

The place is not that far, though not near also, from the Kyoto Station. But still, manageable location. The place is very quiet and comfortable for resting after a long day of walking in Kyoto. It is also near some local shops for your every day needs, and a 711 store is also a few blocks away only within the house. The owner is very accommodating and you can leave your baggage inside their receiving area should you be arriving early (a note from the owner is also in the receiving area should in case she is not available or out to the market). All the rooms (3 different rooms) are located in the 2nd floor with a Dining area and Living area for you to feel very at home. You can use all the appliances in the kitchen area also. Additional cost of Y100 for the towels (small size only) and bottled water (worth it coz almost 1 liter size btl, instead of buying outside with only 500ml worth Y110) or you may just refill your bottle In the faucet since it is drinkable. The house also have 1 bathroom only and with 3 comfort rooms. Still, manageable with other tourist staying also during our vacation. Cheers! さらに表示

It's a 12-minute walk away from the train station and several shopping centres. Along the way you will find a large 7-11 convenience store that opens 24/7. It's very quiet at night and you can see some stars in the sky. We lived on the second floor which has a large common area. The stairs to the second floor is outside the house and it's a little bit steep. If it rains or if you are carrying heavy luggage, it may be a bit dangerous. The facilities inside are good - three toilets, a shower room, two hair dryer, a fridge, a microwave, an electric kettle and some utensils. Towel, bottled water, disposable shaver, toothbrush, washing machine and drying machines require extra fees ranging from 100 Yen to 300 Yen. Shampoo and toothpaste are free. My room had a TV (but we couldn't figure out how to turn it on) and an air-conditioner. The bunk beds were comfortable. There were a few tiny bugs on the upper beds (probably drawn by the lamp on the ceiling) but they didn't cause any nuisance. The host that greeted us was an elderly man which didn't appear to speak English. That was alright because everything went smoothly. さらに表示

Guesthouse Kyoto Ekimae is literally 10 mins walk from the East Gate of the Kyoto Station. It's also some 12-15 mins walk to the Tofukuji Station (Keihan Line) which would get you to Gion and Furushimi Inari. It is in a quiet neigbourhood. The place is immaculate, although it creaks. I have the sense that the person managing the place, an older woman, is not interested in getting a good review. The only interaction I had with her is when I arrived and I paid the bill. She makes you pay for everything : JPY100 for towel (which by the way, smells heavenly), another JPY100 for water (when you shower), toothbrush, shaver, both for JPY100. If I had paid for my accommodation, I feel that it's ridiculous to pay for these little things but I paid anyway, because it felt like stealing if I didn't. She's never around. I actually never saw her again after I paid the rent immediately when I arrived. I left after 2 nights and I simply left the key on my bed : she's nowhere to be found. I also felt like she gave me what looks like the least desirable room in the house - and there's hardly any other guests. Also, check-in at after 4:00 pm and check out at 9:00 am?! Overall, not good value for money, but then again, this is Kyoto. Things are more expensive here than in Osaka. さらに表示
