旅馆是典型的日式家庭旅馆，位置很好、在祗园旁边，步行就能到最繁华的祗园四条商业街。交通也很方便，距离地铁站不到五分钟，距离另外一条线路也只有十几分钟的路，而且有很多公交车经过，十分方便。旅馆主人一家都很亲切热情。酒店虽然小，但是干净整洁，像住在家里一样，十分舒心 さらに表示

I stayed in the tiny single room, which was quaint and cozy. It was rather cold in Kyoto during my stay, but the room has an effective heater and a super fluffy comforter. The futon is thin-ish and on the floor, so you have to be comfortable with that--personally I love it and I slept very well. The neighborhood is great, and the Higashiyama subway stop is just around the corner. The only minor drawback is that the walls are very thin and you will probably hear your neighbor at some point. But overall, it's a charming place that I would fully recommend. さらに表示

Easy to reach from Kyoto station (subway). Excellent location. Very clean and nice touches (charming little garden & floral arrangement). Host is very courteous and caring. Although he doesn't speak much English, he still was able to give me great advice about temples to visit. He was always there to make sure everything was fine. さらに表示

It is a good place and I give my full recommendation. The transport is convenient -- it is not near the city center, but is very close to Higashiyama train stations. Travel to eastern sightseeing locations such as Ginkaku-ji and Eikando is especially fast by direct bus lines. The stay is cozen and value for money is good. The only disappointment is that being a Japanese style house, the sound-proof is not excellent. さらに表示

It was spectacular. My friends and I (3Pax) experienced Japan here. We slept in a a traditional Japanese room. We were however partitioned by a very thin door with our neighbors and as such my friends and I can't speak so loudly. Felt a little bit oppressed but it is okay. Toilets are the classic Japanese Styled Toilets too. However, the bathrooms are meant to be shared. Bath time was limited to 15mins per pax and there is a washing machine there which have a noted pasted on it which says something like Do Not Use or something like that. Very near to transport. 1-3 mins walk only. A lot of major attractions are just a few stops away only. There is a shared pantry too. Value for Money. Do stay here if given the chance to :) さらに表示

It is a great stay in this hotel and Kyoto itself. Near to busstn and subway train station. It also near with market which easy for us to buy drinks, vegetables, fruits etc. The hotel have a common pantry and complete with microwave oven, toaster oven, fridge, electric multi cooker, kettle but unfortunately the wash machine is not working. Anyway it is not a problem because there is 24 hours laundry shop. While waiting for the wash and drying we can go to nearby mart/shop to buy our stuff. The place is very clean although the toilet and shower were shared with other guest. There is always cleaner come and check the cleanliness. Really recommended place. さらに表示

It was a very great experience. The guest house is full of traditional uniqueness, from the Japanese garden to the Japanese style room, the culture impact is strong and wonderful! It was near to subway station which is very convenience for us. The guest house was surrounded by traditional houses and the people around are very friendly. In short, it was a wonderful stay! さらに表示

Basically, this hotel is an old Japanese house run by Japanese grandpa. He is very nice and kind, reminds me of my grandpa. The room is small, simple and clean. I stay in 1 person room and the room looks fantastic. This place feels like home. Not recommended for nightlife person, because the owner will close the front door around 10 or 11 pm if I'm not wrong (it is his house after all) but overall this is the best place i stay in Japan for my trip. さらに表示

Its kinda hard to review this room, the location is great, you can walk to many attractions and its in a quiet and elegant neighborhood. It's also clean, shower was nice and there is a kitchen as well. The room we stayed (for 3 guests) was big (in japanese standard), but I think they make too many rooms out of the house, its possible to be staying in super small rooms. We stayed in traditional japanese style house before so we knew its totally not sound proof, but because they split the house into too many rooms I feel like you hear everything even clearer. As everybody might have mentioned, there is only one shower room so we always came back before dinner to shower, before everyone else does. Lastly, the owner, an old sir, speaks some English but another old lady who cleans doesnt, it's pretty hard to communicate. Also the owner is actually kinda cold. We stayed for 5 nights and I found it less and less pleasant with him due to some misunderstandings. In all, great location, no service you can ask for (no laundry either, and the owner is really quite old so you can't ask him to carry luggage for you or so. In the 5 days of stay, the bin in our room wasn't cleaned), sounds like I complain a lot but it's still a place I would recommend, since the traditional houses can be very expensive, the size and the location of this house is already of pretty good value. さらに表示

Supply of accommodations on the weekend was tight so I paid nearly $100/night. The walls are so thin, I could hear people in the other rooms rub their noses. If anyone else is staying there at the same time, don't be surprised to hear conversations until midnight and hair dryers at 6am. Unless you are made of tough stuff (and I lived in Kyoto for ten years), make sure you get at least two futons. さらに表示

The location is perfect. I was able to do a walk from the hotel to most major sites, including Yazaka shrine, passing through the old streets before hitting Kiyomizu-dera. However, it is as what most have said. The walls are thin, the bath facilities are shared. We booked at the Shirakawa but were accommodated at its annex 2 or 3 street alleys away. The reception was OK and the annex is not that really far from the main Shirakawa hostel. It was a very short walk from the Subway Station where you can buy all-day Bus or Subway Tickets. Its proximity to the Bus and Subway station takes away the need to be near Kyoto Station as all buses will retun to Kyoto Station. As expected for Japan hostels the room was very small with no shelves or drawers although they were clean enough. Same with the toilets which had modern heated and splashing functions. But there was only one bathroom to share with all the guests. We didn't have any problems with waiting time to use it though as we always got up early. The receptionist did not offer the information about free towels and the use of a small fridge for the guest. The 80USD (est. USD100 wd comm) per nite is too high for this type of accommodation even for high-season. We really think it's overpriced at the rate we got it for. Agoda should check this out for its future customers and put a price cap on certain types of accommodations that it offers on-line like Shirakawa and not leave it entirely to SUPPLY and Demand さらに表示

We booked the bekkan transitional house with toilet and bathroom. It's clean. There are air-conditioners on each floor, but the downstair one was not running ineffiently. House position is near the subway station and also several minutes walk to the main tour places at Gion. There is a Macdonald's nearby too. The old papa is very kind and helped us with our baggage.
