The room's airconditioning seems to interconnected with the others, hence as a result if a person is smoking in another room; you can smell the smoke in your room. We had to cover the airconditioning and shut it off, just to get satisfactorily clean air inside the room; good thing that it was cold in Hakodate that time, and we didn't really need airconditioning indoors, but for warmer weather I can imagine this is a problem. The location is very close to Fort Goryokaku, which helps if you want to experience the illumination during the winter or cherry blossom seasons, however be sure to weigh in the possible airconditioning issue if you're a non-smoker. さらに表示

Strong smoking smell within the hotel. The smoking room inside the lobby was not isolated that when you first arrive, you can smell strong smoking smell. Although I booked a nonsmoking room, I was allocated a room at 9/F where strong smoking smell in the corridor too. Very unhappily, in the room, also full of smoking smell. I have to open the window all the time while it was below 10 degree C outside. I won't choose this hotel in future. さらに表示

The feel of the place is a bit dated but the room was comfortable. The goryokaku fort is a short walk away and view from the hotel is great! But a bit far from the tram station and the jr line though it is a straight forward route. さらに表示

Being the only hotel available through Agoda, I thought it would be a nice hotel. My previous experience with an Agoda suggested hotel was great. I realized later, that this could have been risky. Fortunately, there were no problems at all. The hotel is very close to Goryokaku Park. The staff was incredibly friendly. Though their English as not perfect, they strived to communicate and were very helpful. The Izikaya (local bar) that they suggested was wonderful too. The room was nice. Though it is not brand new, it does not feel outdated. It was also very clean. And they had free internet. It can take a little time to get to the hotel, via bus or trolley (from Hakodate Eki). But we didn't feel this was a problem. They had no problem holding on to our bags after we checked out and went to visit Goryokaku park. The only really negative thing was that there were no queen beds. さらに表示
