This place is kinda old. You can tell that the glory days are long gone. But the friendly staff, sauna and decent breakfast make up for it. The quality and condition of the tatami room was pretty good too. Bathroom was very dated. さらに表示

Had a pleasant stay at Yudanaka Hotel. The hotel service was great. What I like about this hotel, it’s a ryokan style, spacious room for 2, only 2mins walk to Yudanaka Station and Lawson konbini. Definitely will stay here again next time. さらに表示

The good: 1) 4-5 minutes walk from the Yudanaka train station 2) Very large & clean room 3) Room already heated upon arrival 4) Comfortable tatami for a good night's sleep (even with my wife's sensitive back) 5) Free (nearly) 24-hours onsen in the hotel 6) You have to take your shoes off & wear hotel provided slippers all around the hotel so the hotel's quite clean 7) Ideal location to get to Snow Monkey Park, Ryuoo Ski Park & Shibu Onsen 8) Great price 9) Friendly & helpful staffs The bad: 1) Hotel definitely dated but well maintained so didn't bother us 2) Wifi in the room sometimes unstable 3) Most staffs' English not good さらに表示

We were only here for one night, but everything was as good as I expected. The hotel is starting to show it's age a bit, but not in any way that will impact your stay. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly, it's safe and in a good location. If you're tired of the tiny micro-rooms in the business hotels, you'll find these rooms very spacious! さらに表示

My family of 5 stay there for 2 nights. The room is very comfortable and clean. We truly enjoy the hot bath located in the ground floor. The hotel is very near to the train/bus station which is very convenient for those who wants to explore other tourists attraction like Snow Monkey Park, Shibu Onsen or Shiga Onsen. さらに表示

Breakfast delicious.Unfortunetly a minus point is Onsen close from 8am to 10am for cleaning .Check out time at 10am.Unable to go onsen in the morning. They should clean it after check out time and before the 4pm check in time.Bed are really comfortable and room are very spacious. さらに表示

I would recommend you go for the full experience and do breakfast and dinner here. It’s a real middle of the road Japanese experience. Good value, modest, not pretentious or resorty. That being said, the spa / bath facilities are beautiful, clean, well appointed - at least the women’s side also has a sauna and steam room (my husband didnt pay as much attention on the men’s side. ). Again, excellent value and super convenient location. さらに表示

As per title. Only downsides: no laundry facilities and breakfast is only so-so. さらに表示

Very good location away from the city, which was a nice change of pace. There is a complimentary shuttle bus from the hotel to the entrance of the snow monkeys (however you are required to make your own way back). The hotel itself is pretty dated but still had top notch facilities, particularly decent indoor onsen and pool. Staff spoke minimal English but can understand broken Japanese well. さらに表示

I am reviewing Hotel Yudanaka, because I read a bad review before my stay, and almost cancelled. I am glad I didn't. Hotel Yudanaka is a really old hotel, so if you like 5* new, this may not be the hotel for you. However, if you want a 'real' Japanese experience, I recommend it and I ended up liking it a lot. People from all over the village go to the hotel to use their hot spring baths - its really good. There is also a little restaurant/bar downstairs, and I think they brew their own beer - it is usually busy and the food was great. 5 mins away is the train station and a convenience store. There is a free transfer bus to and from the ski fields. Everyone is friendly and everything works. I would stay there again! さらに表示

This hotel went above and beyond for me staying in Yudanaka for the night. The hotel allows you free access to their hot springs (split male/female), which plenty of people pay to come to use. The hotel staff also gave us a free car ride up to the snow monkey location (when bus far is about USD $3/person. さらに表示

The hotel is conveniently located a few minutes from the train station. The staff was very obliging and the ride to the monkey park was really appreciated. A tasty Japanese breakfast which included salmon. The indoor onsen is well maintained and very popular with the locals and travelers. A little shabby in areas. Internet connection could be better. But it’s tremendous value for the price. さらに表示

The facade of the hotel looks really modern and new, however this hotel is really old and dated. The onsen is really old too with many things broken. The rooms smelled mouldy and toilets were really dated. Pretty bad by Japanese standards. さらに表示

I went out to Yudanaka with my sister about 3 days after Typhoon Lin hit. First of all, we got in about an hour later than I had originally guessed (10pm) and I was nervous we wouldn't be able to check in and everything would be closed (a lot of places I'd looked at online before the trip had strict checkin times). This was not the case. The man at the front desk had waited for us and had everything prepared for probably the fastest checkin I've ever experienced. The room was already setup with the traditional mats and I fell asleep instantly! FYI for those who are thinking about a traditional room but are nervous, those futon mats are super comfortable and both my sister and I slept amazingly there. Secondly, because of the typhoon just days earlier, the monkey park was closed down due to mudslides. During check-in, the man at the front desk let us know that they still hadn't opened it back up to the public. The next morning at breakfast (sidenote: it is a pretty good spread), front desk man (sorry, I wish I remembered his name) actively sought my sister and I out to tell us they reopened the park that morning! He then brought us a map and gave us instructions on the best ways to get to and from the park. At the train station, he helped us figure out the taxi to get up to the park (1800 yen total). Honestly, this was well above and beyond. The front desk people were so nice and so helpful. I would recommend the ryokan just based on them! The hotel and rooms were worth the stay on their own. Together, the hotel/rooms and staff, made this my favorite place to stay my entire trip. I didn't use the onsen (because I can't bring myself to go in them or public baths generally) but, I heard good things from others staying there. For those going to the monkey park - we took a taxi up (split between a different couple, we only paid 900 yen) and then walked back (downhill and maybe took us 50 minutes at a strolling and frequent photography taking speed). さらに表示

We can tell that this hotel had its golden times once, perhaps long time ago. It's now rather run down, bathroom fixtures and fittings are rather old. It's a big tatami style bedroom that comes with two beds, old TV, big sliding wardrobe commonly used to store the bed in Japanese homes, a set of table and low seats Japanese style in the room, a TV, and a balcony that comes with another set of chairs and table. As you enter through the door, there is a wardrobe to hang your coats and place your shoes. Further on is a small disfunctional cooker, then there comes the toilet. All old. The shower head is very low and water is spraying to all direction, low water pressure, gotta wait a bit that it's really warm lighting is rather dim and the whole area from entrance to the toilet is without heater. Only the sleeping area (on the left side from room entrance, separated by sliding door) comes with heater. You have to take off your shoes as you enter the reception area, there is shoe storage area on the right side of the main entrance. Good point: this hotel is located in a compound that looks like commercial tourist building with a few eateries within the same building. Overall, should not much complain with the price, the better hotel in the area cost a lot more さらに表示
