Got there in the morning to deposit bag as advised. Staff was very inattentive and rude. I need to catch the scheduled train and was there waaaaaay early b4 the reception opens. However, i was made to wait and t\he was busy serving others and treated me as if I am invisible. What is so difficult to just deposit my bag and come back in the evening to check in. The whole process took me 40mins. This is very disappointing service and attitude. No refill of the daily green tea as promise. The kitchen area has no serviette/tissue provided. Coffee is 3-in-1 where the hostel b4 this stay provided decent drip coffee. For a price like this, it is not worth for all the trouble!! さらに表示

The guest house is a good choice for the budget conscious. It's clean and generally comfortable for its price. The staff are helpful and go the extra mile in providing folders containing useful information on good restaurants in the area and on how to get to key attractions. The negatives: Location - A less than stellar location. It's in a charming neighbourhood quite near a metro station (Gojo). But we found that it took significantly more than 10 mins (especially with luggage) to walk to the guest house from Kyoto station. I would recommend that not-too-budget-conscious guests take the metro to Gojo station (one stop from Kyoto). Please also note that Ikoi-no-ie is actually spread over several houses across a few adjoining streets, and you might not get the exact location as listed in Agoda. Even the reception is located in a different house. Facilities - Biggest issue is with the lack of soundproofing. You can hear almost anything from the stairway creaking to flushing toilets. Not ideal (at least if you are concerned about the welfare of fellow guests) if you have plans to set off early or return late at night. No major frills as can be expected from the price. I had a great stay here. It's walking distance from Kyoto station, subway stations and a 7/11. The room and bathroom were very clean, and it was nice to have a shower in the room as well as the ones in the hallway. The staff was helpful. The only confusion is that the reception is in a separate building about 2.5-3 blocks away from the actual hostel, but it says that on the door at the main part of the hostel. Basically, you just call with the phone outside the door, and receptionists will come to get you and bring you to the front desk. さらに表示

this guesthouse is located in the central part of Kyoto downtown so it was really convenient for us my family to be back and forth from the touristic places, bus terminal and train station, and shopping malls. But the guesthouse is located in the middle of the long alley so we were confused to find it at the first time but after one day it was ok to find it. Of course the room was clean and decorated with cute things but when we entered the house, sometimes it smelled stinky and we heard some noise and the hallway was too small. It was my first time to visit Japan; as you may know Japan is a super expensive country so the price of this guesthouse was expensive compared to Korea but it was worth it: no complaints. The staff of this guesthouse were friendly to gave us useful information how to go to touristic places. The choice is up u; for me this guesthouse is pretty much ok but Japan was a bit disappointing us for some reasons. さらに表示

Basically, a pleasant stay. A nice, generous space for a solo traveler. The shared space is very well kept, clean & modern. All amenities provided. However, when staying in a machiya, the noise from other guests can feel very close. This is due to the thin walls & doors which are part of the original style. If you want total peace & quiet, think again. Also, the distance to the shared toilet, particularly in the middle of the night might make you reconsider. And if you want a strong wi-if signal, better go & look for the router! May also be a fair distance away. Overall, plus points outweigh the negatives. さらに表示

I enjoyed my stay at the Ikoi-no-ie in Kyoto, the hotel was centrally located in Kyoto and was very clean, the room was very comfortable and the staff spoke English and was very friendly. さらに表示
