The morning scenic view of Taisho Pond at the hotel is stunning. The staff is superb with service beyond my expectations. I was so careless to leave my rings in the hotel room upon my departure. I was aware of that only long after we left the hotel. The staff has found my rings and was so kind to send them all the way back to my home town, Hong Kong for me. Highly appreciated. さらに表示

It's best location area in kamikochi. Back of the hotel is pond, good view in the early morning. After sunset, the view will be change by the sun shine. Room is Japanese style, but have no mineral bath, just hot water. Overall are best to stay one or more than, good. さらに表示

This hotel is right next to Taisho-ike pond, which makes it extremely convenient to view the famous morning fog scene. The rooms are clean, but everything is quite basic. The food was yummy and the dining hall was spacious. The only down side was I e-mailed them about a change of travellers numbers to the room, and they have replied me thru e-mail and confirmed it's ok. However, this was not communicated to the front desk so when we arrived, the front desk didn't know we have 4 people instead of 3, and they had to prepare everything last minute. Initially they thought I did not inform the hotel, it took them a while to find the e-mail, but they never apologised for making the mistake. さらに表示

This hotel is right at one of the bus stops for the buses to/from the parking lots. And it has a great view of the beautiful pond and you can watch the sunset! The perfect spot to hike the entire valley and see everything. The breakfast was delicious with a choice of either western style (eggs, sausage, bread) or Japanese style (grilled fish, salad, fruit). The dinners were excellent multi-course meals consisting of many small Japanese dishes and variety of cooking styles (grilled, baked, fried, raw, special sauces). The bus stop is just in front of the hotel. If you have a return bus ticket you can take the bus from there to the bus terminal free of charge as many times as you want. Going up is free but not coming down. The walk from the terminal down to the hotel is scenic and takes about 40 minutes in summer. We took almost 2 hours in April because of the icy paths. The public bath and restaurant face the pond and mountains and is really beautiful. Excellent dinner and breakfast. さらに表示

The location is not good BUT the shuttle does solve the problem. The shuttle basically can drive us anywhere so dining out is not a problem at all. They are equipped with Handy Phone and hence it is easy to call to the hotel if a shuttle pickup is needed. Very great stay The private onsen arrangement is great. さらに表示

The hotel is just next to the bus stop, very accessible! if you want to see the lake view at dawn, it is a good hotel to stay. just follow the track next to the hotel to the lake side 2-3 mins walk. We arrived at the telephone address for this hotel as dusk was falling. Fine you would think except that only then we found that you had to park the car (cost about $20) and take a half hour taxi ride to the hotel ($60) and of course the same on the way back. In terms of location, i would rate taisho lake as one of the most scenic location in kakikochi. No better way to explore the lake early in the morning. The hotel staff was fantastic and makes you feel warmly welcomed cutting across all language barrier. Bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Food was fresh and great. Restaurant overlooks the lake.
