I went on a solo trip to Japan in January 2018 and most of my accomodations were hostels and capsule hotels but I splurged on this ryokan. And it was worth every penny! They really took good care of me and I was crying the whole way to the train station the morning I left. I can't wait to go back there someday!! I have recommended it to all of my friends. They have the most delicious crab dinner that had so much fantastic food that I could barely eat half of it! The woman that served me in my room was so delightful! I am planning my next trip to Japan around staying in Kinosaki Onsen and going to this ryokan! : ) さらに表示

Beautiful hotel with amazing customer service. Dinner is an experience you must do. The free bikes they lend you also let us see quite bit in a bike friendly town. The landscaped garden is a relaxing way to start your drinking coffe and eating the breakfast that is served to your room さらに表示

Although the weather wasnt great (it was cold and raining), we enjoyed our stay a lot. The ryokan has a beautiful garden, 3 onsen baths, all worth trying. The meal was huge, and the matsuba crab is highly recommended (available only in winter months)! The town is nice, but would be better to walk around in the spring or summer. さらに表示

This was the jewel of our honeymoon in Japan. The ryokan is perfect. It is a beautiful building with an incredible garden. The service and hospitality was outstanding. We told the hotel we were celebrating our honeymoon. They gave us a beautiful room with direct garden access. They upgraded our dinner to a celebratory meal. Everything was gorgeous to look at and delicious to eat. The location is wonderful. We loved strolling around the town in our yukatas and bathing at the onsens. The next morning we hiked to the shrine. I cannot recommend this ryokan or the town enough. さらに表示

This was our final destination in Japan and we were looking forward to a relaxing and indulgent 2 night stay after 3 incredible weeks of travelling. This accommodation ticked all the boxes for us - beautiful room with incredible view overlooking the gardens, beautiful bathing facilities, courteous and helpful staff and the food was more than we could have ever hoped for. Unfortunately we were kept awake by the occupants of the room directly below us who were drinking and partying until 0500 and we didn't get to sleep the entire night which was incredibly distressing as it completely ruined our plans for the next day which also included a lunch at restaurant Ricca that we were really looking forward to. It was very disappointing to have experienced this lack of consideration and disrespect by other guests. We splashed out on a two night stay at Nishimuraya Honkan for our wedding anniversary during a three week trip to Japan and we're so glad we did! The hotel is beautiful, with a gorgeous garden and lovely ryokan. We had such a relaxing stay - it was amazing to give our shoes in at check in and not have to wear them again until we checked out. All of the staff were very helpful and we loved having our meals served in our room. The food was amazing! Everything we could need for our visits to other ryokan was provided and we really enjoyed wandering around the town wearing our traditional Japanese clothes. さらに表示

Great design, great staff and real japanese experience. Going to one onsen to another in the ryokan yukatas has been one of our best time in Japan along with the kaiseki diner. Our host Tomomi (who served the diner) was the kindness in flesh. Definitely worth the money. さらに表示

We stayed here for our honeymoon in Oct 2013. We have traveled all over the world and this was by far our best hotel experience ever! The epitome of luxury Japanese cultural experience. We had a beautiful tatami room with our exclusive Japanese garden view and a private stone spa with spring water from a bamboo. It came with beautiful yukatas we could wear around town. We had the divine kaiseki (multi-course) dinner meal as well as the breakfast which was a work of art! The staff was absolutely exceptional especially our manager. They really made us feel special and most welcome. Many thanks for team in making our honeymoon experience such an enjoyable experience from start to finish and showing us the best in Japanese hospitality. My stay at Nishimuraya Honkan was a birthday present and I'm not normally accustomed to such luxury. And what luxury! The gardens, which my room overlooked and opened onto, are as beautiful as any I saw in three weeks in Japan. The outdoor onsen was the perfect thing to soothe my back after a couple of weeks backpacking round the country. The staff were very attentive and helpful. As I said, I'm not normally accustomed to the kind of treatment you get in a high-end ryokan like this, so I actually found the politeness and helpfulness a little overpowering at first and it made me a little uncomfortable. However, once you get used to letting people do everything for you, it was quite nice. And finally, the food. Oh, the food! Despite having a menu printed in English and a verbal description of each dish as it was presented, I still don't know exactly what half of the things I ate were. The only thing I can tell you is that it was one of the most beautifully prepared meals I've ever eaten, and (sea urchin aside) was absolutely delicious. さらに表示

This is one of the nicest rooms I've ever had (traditional Japanese style). Very private set of rooms with beautiful garden and private outdoor bathing pool. Dinner and breakfast (traditional Japanese) were beautifully prepared and served by friendly and attentive staff. The town of Kinosaki Onsen is fun, romantic & atmospheric. You can stroll about in yukata & geta provided by hotel and visit public hot springs in the town. Wish I could have stayed a week! さらに表示

We had a lovely stay. If you are a couple of friends going together, this is a great place, but you shouldnt expect parties or a lively bar ,nearby. The girl who took care of us during our stay was lovely and you could tell she had had a lot of training. さらに表示

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed our time thoroughly. All the staff are very friendly and helpful to all your needs. Dinner and breakfast are served in your room daily, and the menu is different every day. The price of accommodation may seem expensive, but once you arrive, you will definitely change your mind. The meals are fantastic, the Ryokan's onsen are much more pleasant than the public ones in Kinosaki Onsen. You are also offered a free pass that allows you to visit all the other public onsen in the area. If you have the chance, I definitely recommend you to come and visit NishimurayaHonkan. さらに表示

the onsens on site and in town are good. the meals provided are amazing, and it seemed neverending - be ready for a huge dinner and breakfast. the one thing i did not like was the rooms smell like food (crab and fish) cause you're eating in there; but well worth the exeperience, and cracking the patio door out into the garden is a quick fix. fell asleep overlooking the snowy japanese garden with fresh crisp air flowing in after an evening of soaking in the hot springs after a huge delicious meal! the staff are very pleasant and welcoming. can't say enough good things about my experience! さらに表示
