建物はとっても古いんですけど、程よくリニューアルされてて快適でした。
お部屋の内部、特に内風呂が1番古い感じでしたが、エアコン、お布団、ティー·エスプレッソマシン等の設備が新しく十分カバーできました。
スタッフの方が皆さん親切でマスクをしていながらも笑顔が溢れているのがわかりました。
貸切露天風呂に入りに行くときに、フロントまで鍵を取りに行くのが場所的に若干面倒でしたが、あれくらい歩くのはいいかな。
増築を重ねている古い旅館らしく、階段が多かったのがまた不思議な旅情を生み出していました。バリアフリーではないのでそこは注意が必要です。

It is very convenient to reach Matsuzakaya Honten. Just take a bus from platform number 3 outside Odawara station. From where the bus drops you off, it's a 50m walk to the property gate. Under heavy rain. I was greeted warmly by the hotel staff with warm Sakura tea and towels to dry myself. Even our shoes were dried off and cleaned. There was an hour to go before our checkout time. The staff courteously guided us to the free bar with all sorts of liquor, tea, coffee and candies at disposal. The rooms are very spacious with a large bed, a nice electric kotatsu, a terrace looking into the garden, and a hot spring water tub in the open. Beware of spiders and insects though, we had some really big ones in the bath and toilet. The kaiseki dinner and 8-course breakfast was an amazing experience. Lastly, at the checkout, the staff bid us goodbye right until the ryokan gate which I felt very sincere and heartwarming. Felt like at home. さらに表示

We spent 3 days and everything was just perfect !!! All the staffs were very very nice just like we read from previous reviews. We inform the staff that we have to leave early on the last day and couldn't have breakfast, when we check-out the front desk staff gave us 2 bento sets to eat along the road. So thoughtful and considerate. Thank you for hosting our stays, it was memorable and relaxing. We surely will come again. さらに表示

Excellent dinner and breakfast！Very hot sulfurous springs. My first time trying a kokatsu，feels like heaven inside.！ Location is in the mountain，so not very convenient unless driving a car. さらに表示

High quality customer services, they can provide multiple languages. Both breakfast and dinner were really really good. Extremely poor WiFi connection. Only 2 hot tubs at public bath but with high quality of hot spring.
In conclusion, this is worth for traveller ,who comes from other countries, to have traditional Japanese experience. But I will not go again because it is a little bit expensive. Btw, staffs were really really nice. さらに表示

Absolutely loved our stay here, all to brief though. Room was spacious and beautifully presented, the onsen on the deck was a delight to bathe in under the stars, there was also an internal bath with doors opening onto the deck. Whilst no shower in the room we embraced the Japanese way of bathing, lots of water and mess, fun! The free bar was lovely and nice to relax in the public areas before a superb dinner, truely sublime as was the breakfast that followed. Stayed here for 1 night. And I have to say that it’s the food and service is excellent.
If u want to experience traditional Japanese food and hot spring, this is the hotel to book.

Food was exquisite and plentiful. There were 2 private baths and separate hot springs for men/women. We were able to have the hot springs all to ourselves the times that we used it even through the ryokan was full. Highly recommend. さらに表示

Matsuzakaya Honten blew my expectations by a mile. This ryokan/hotel is clean, traditional japanese style but with a modern twist. Best part about it is the food, saying it has great food is an understatement, food was absolutely amazing!! Breakfast and dinner were all Michelin star level. We enjoyed everything to the last grain of rice, drop of soup, lick of dessert.
Tip: stay in a room with a private onsen, it's worth it!
Only hiccup we had was actually getting to this place: a mistake of ours, or should I say Google Map's, we went to "Matsuzakaya Hotel" instead, lol, it's only 1km apart and has the exact identical Japanese Kanji letters. So make sure you go to the correct place: Matsuzakaya Honten. さらに表示

Super nice ryokan, stayed here with my partner for one night. Private open air onsen was amazing.
Great room, the bed was so fluffy and cozy i could die.
Both the dinner and breakfast was sn experiance, loved it.
If there is something i would comment on is that the drinks for the cost money, feelt alittle wierd considering they hade the same beer in drinks and snacks room which where free.
Nontheless, would definitly recommend people to visit!

A bit of a pain to get to, and expensive, but was one of the highlights of our Japan trip. The room was spacious & clean and the staff very attentive. The waters of the onsen were very pleasant, the only issues being the difficulty in cheaply getting to nearby activities (museums etc) and the bar being closed during our stay (free alcohol was still available, just the socialising opportunities with other guests were very limited).
One thing that deserves special praise was the food - it was exceptional. First night was an 8 course feast, second night was a phenomenal shabu shabu (the breakfasts were also great). I would stay here again happily, despite the expense. さらに表示
