The staff are the heroes at this establishment, they bent over backwards to assist me with anything I needed. I ended up with a spacious room in typical Japanese style with tatami matting, mattress on the floor and a doona to keep one snuggly and warm. The heaters in the room do the job very well and within minutes of turning it on the room was comfortably warm. In fact I turned it off before going to bed. The facilities are shared, typical Japanese style bathrooms and toileting area. The cleaners take pride in keeping the place spick and span. The breakfasts alternated each day, one day western style, the other Japanese style, loved all the meals. In relation to getting to the snowfields it was an up hill walk to the gondola, easy if you don’t have carry ski equipment. Plenty of eating establishments within walking distance of the hotel, even a burger joint run by Aussies within minutes from the hotel. Great stay ! さらに表示

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The room was huge and comfortable. Our little girls loved the common area and the little toys they can play with. 😊 My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the food (breakfast and dinner). We will definitely be back! さらに表示

We booked last minute to nozawak and select the hotel among few others wondering if it was good. No regret at all, staff is really nice, room spacious and good breakfast. Great location in the village. We will come back. さらに表示

I don’t usually write reviews, but i feel this is worth my time and effort. Utopia was my first stay out of many of the places in Nozawa Onsen, i can say it is truly the most memorable one, the best service, breakfast, cleanest room, the owner gave me a great introduction to Nozawa, and kind enough to pay great attention during the 2 days i stayed to help me plan activities, places to go and the upcoming fire festival. I thought this was the Japanese standard for all hotels but i was wrong. As Utopia was later fully booked i went on to stay 4 other places in Nozawa, and i was disappointed they did not match the same experience as i had in Utopia. さらに表示

We loved our stay at Nozawa Onsen Utopia. Staff was always willing to explain things to us (this was our first time in Japan), the hotel was clean and comfortable, and we felt like we were getting an authentic Japanese ryokan-type experience. The location is also ideal for walking to the ski slopes and restaurants, bars, and onsens in town. Wonderful experience! I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Nozawa. さらに表示

Our stay here was incredible--close to the slopes, Onsens, and the main village thoroughfare, we couldn't have asked for a better situation during our stay in Nozawa Onsen. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, spoke English well, and always helpful. Good location, nice large room, comfortable futons. Run by a very friendly and lovely local Japanese family, they where courteous, polite and very helpful. Spoke good English. We really enjoyed our stay and would go back again. Highly recommended. The skiing and snow was also fantastic. さらに表示

My family of 5 including 3 teenagers stayed for 5 nights and found our room very clean and spacious. Room 205 had a smaller room attached which fitted 3 tatami mats for the girls and the 2 guys stayed in the larger room where we gathered around the low table for hot chocolate! The bathroom facilities are shared but are very clean and there are toilets on every floor and basins outside the toilets for grooming. The bathing facility is downstairs and they have a large hot tub for soaking although it is not an Onsen (water from the hot spring). There are plenty of free public onsens in the town. The breakfast servings were generous and you can have a traditional Japanese breakfast or select a western hot breakfast (eggs, potato and sausage) with yogurt, cereal and toast. The location is super convenient with easy access to the Main Street. Best for adults and families with older children due to the shared bathroom faculties but very good value for money. The ryokan is run by the extended family and they are very polite and helpful. Would visit again!!! さらに表示

We had an enjoyable stay at Nozawa Onsen Utopia. The owners were very helpful and friendly, they helped us call the Ski School to confirm matters and gave us a ride to the travellator on the first day of our skiing. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. There is an onsen just outside the hotel, which makes it convenient to cook onsen eggs. It is also a mere 10 mins walk to the travellator up the slope. Complimentary onsen manju as a welcome snack in our room the first day, and free-to-take Japanese oranges in the lobby. さらに表示
