We paid about 200+ versus other onsen places that were in a range of 400-500. This was good value to me, as I still got the Ryokan experience and one major benefit is that the onsen bath (both indoors and outdoors) were private and attached to the room versus most other Ryokans. I think in general, it is hard to reach Ryokans without a car so either way I didn't feel like it was inaccessible. さらに表示

food are excellent. easy to find as there are lots of signs to show the way. the in-house onsen is the highlight and there is also public onsen as well. the services are awesome. dinner and breakfast will make u very full. recommend to all travelers. さらに表示

Its our first time booking a room with a private onset at Ota Onsen Hanagokoro. "Room" is an understated description, its actually a big cozy log cabin with two standard beds (big enough for 2), a separate tatami sitting area, separate baths (with onsen) & toilet. The onset bath water is very hot so we have to mixed it with cold tap water to use it. They also provide a coffee grinder and fresh coffee beans for guest. Perfect stay, lovely owners. Not much spoken English, but are extremely hospitable, so do use your "google translate" to communicate. Highly recommended stay. We also experienced -2 degrees celsius temperature during our stay (Dec 5 - 7), and woke up to a lovely morning view of light snow/frost everywhere. Our rental car is also covered in ice/frost in the morning, and so are the roof and grass and road and plants. The location is easily reached coz we followed the GPS mapcode closely. さらに表示

The cheif is very enthusiasm. He even made a cake for us at the last day. It is an excellent living experience for the self drive travel. However the location is inconvinence if you are not driving. It provide excellent mountain view and very private silence enviroment. Also it has a hot spring water bath tub in the room. さらに表示

Location is quite secluded, but the surroundings provides a great escape for the mind and soul. The cabins have all the required amenities. Hospitality is wonderful, full course dinner and breakfast are served, so you won't be hungry. The resident dog, Mikatsuki, is really friendly, and we had a great time playing with him. The only downside is the cabins are located above the pathways, so you need to trek the stone steps to access into the cabins, which can be very challenging for those with limited mobility (both my father and my husband have difficulties in walking). It is not worth to spend more then US$400 for 1 night for this Ryokan. After I found this fantastic Ryokan in Yonago serving all kinds of food such as sushi and crabs using different cooking methods, I felt really really angry that I got ripped off by the Ota Onsen Hanagokoro. The funny thing is that I spent LESS MONEY in the Ryokan in Yonago!! If all the other Ryokan is fulled and you have only one choice to stay which is Ota Onsen, choose other area in Japan. My biggest mistake is choosing this one. Location sucks. Food sucks. Onsen sucks as we couldn't use the in-room onsen because of the deadly hot temperature of water. You can use this onsen after hard work of pouring half of the hot water out and make the cold water filled in the tank 50%. But you are there to relax not to do the hard work spending US$400 per 1 night, right? This Ryokan was the worst Ryokan in Japan among those I stayed more then 15 different ones. さらに表示

The location is not good if you do not have car, you will feel lost when you took of the highway bus because you got off next to the highway, there are no public transports and shuttle bus to get there.... at last, we seek help from traveler center and got a taxi! We only stayed for one night, but would happily have stayed for many more. The cottage was beautiful and very neat. The private tub in the cottage was a lovely feature, even though we did visit the common onsen too. The beds were comfy and it was absolutely peaceful at night. First class Japanese meal, breakfast and dinner, excellent. The room is nice and cosy. This hotel is literally in the middle of a forest, my wife like to do morning walk here (in the jungle). In-room and open air hot spring was included, no need to share with other in the open hot spring around this city. No shopping outlet here. A good place for relax or newly wed. Highly recommended.
