This is a newer style of accommodation where check-in occurs at the Resi Stay counter near Kyoto Station. That means there is no staff at the specific site itself, but the service at the service counter was great. So, make sure to check in at the counter across from Kyoto Station. Then, they will offer a free shuttle to your hotel from the counter (shuttle is only for that first trip to the hotel from the check-in counter). The room was great, offering both beds and a tatami area with futon. There was a small kitchen and even a laundry machine with detergent in the bathroom (no dryer though). Definitely multiple steps up from a capsule hotel. Heian Sakura is in a quieter part of town, but it only takes about 20 minutes to walk to Shijo / Karasuma area. Would recommend for a group. さらに表示

We were given room #203 that faces a very noisy road with heavy traffic. Apparently the staff was aware of this issue but they still take advantage of visiting tourists. Please STAY AWAY. * This is an unattended property. ResiStay reception is 15-20 minutes away. * We could not sleep due to noise, cut the tours and had to go to registration office to lodge complaint. * Management hides in other room/reception staff have no authority * No replacement room was offered to us until the last night * As a solution we bought headset to cancel the noise. The reception staff recommended the store/ told to submit the receipts for reimbursement * The staff continued to give us hope that the management was reviewing our case * When we said we will leave early due to noise, the staff was keen to ask when, likely to resell the room if we left early! * We did leave a day early - spoiled our trip * We got a denial e-mail after we left. Very clean and new facilities. Booked a large apartment, great for 4. Siren from emergency vehicles may affect some people. Sound proofing would be good. Professional staff. Check in place is close to the Kyoto station but took some time to locate. Shuttle to apartment is good. Taxi is easy to flag down. さらに表示

We got to the hotel only to read a sign that says that check in was a 30 min public transport away. This was not feasible as we had huge suitcases. We took a cab that cost us about 2000 Yen to the check in and when we complained that we were never notified of this, we were told explicitly that we should have known because they had emailed us. No apology no thing. And we had 2 separate bookings for 2 people and neither one of us received anything. We asked to see the manager and we were told even more rudely that it was our fault for not getting the email "Well, did you check your spam?" was her comment. Yes, we should always be checking our spam for a mail we never knew existed....duhh! So much for being welcomed to Japan! The room was spacious, very clean, freezing cold for the first 24 hours and noisy. さらに表示

Heian stay is non-staff hotel, as we didn't go through the special check-in pdf therefore waited at the hotel outside but the staff was nice, they provided us the hotel entrance door code to storage out luggage at downstairs before check-in. The head office staff was nice to explain whatever that I asked for. Strongly recommend for those who like to find hotel in kyoto. さらに表示

Great sized spotless room which was comfortable for us and our 18Mth old son. The information provided at check in and during the stay was fantastic. Everything was easy and organized. Location is close to restaurants and some sights, other were approx 20 walk away which we were happy with. Only down fall was our room backed on to the road - which got busy at times and didn’t feel could pull the blinds up due to people walking past. But we got used to it. No staff , it is my fault to not follow the check-in check to my email. No check in after 8 pm (online check-in) Thanks Agoda CS to managed to help me find out what the "PASSCODE" for the front door and the Key box. IMAGINE if you are booking directly to the Hotel website. You are possibility lock in in the freezing weather in March. Yes, It is a Key Box like Airbnb. No hotel Staff at all, No service at all. No "SOUNDPROOFING WINDOWS" , and your room is actually 2 feets by a busy road. Busy road mean busy 24h, There is no different to actually sleeping on the street. It is 7 am, and there is commercials truck and "Harley Davidson Bike" passby. WTH. The good thing is it is very clean and everything that you will need for a family stay.
