The inn owners are very friendly. They treated us with warmth and kindness. Breakfast was prepared and presented beautifully, food quality has no argument, super good. Despite the early morning schedule we had and out of service time, they still try to make it happen so that we can enjoy the breakfast to catch up on the train. Exceptional service from Shizuo and Keiko. Lovely, homely place to stay. They collected our luggage from the station so we could start seeing the sights immediately and offered to pick us up from the station when we were ready to check-in. The guesthouse of Shizuo and Keiko is a perfect place if you're looking for someone trustful and helpful. They offer pick-up service from/to Nikko train station(both Tobu and JR). Besides, they will do their best to meet guest's needs and serve as a guide to give you suggestions for food and tourism. Would recommend to anyone who loves to see the nature of Nikko. さらに表示

The inn owners treated us with the level warmth and kindness normally reserved for family and close friends. The night we arrived at the JR station, it had been snowing all day and the temperature was near freezing after sunset. The inn owner picked us up at the station free of charge and dropped us off at a ramen restaurant for dinner. He then dropped us off at the JR station the next day so we could store our luggage at the station lockers and then catch the Nikko tour bus to see all the historic sites. Nikko is a small town, and it would've been difficult for us to reach the inn after dark on icy roads on our own, especially since we weren't familiar with the system of buses there. The inn is tucked away in a residential neighborhood, and although one can walk to the bus station, it's not the most accessible location. The owner dropping us off really helped a lot. The breakfast was easily the best Japanese food I've had while on my two-week vacation in Japan. It's beautifully arranged and delicious. It was also filling, which mattered a lot to us, since we were walking 30,000 steps a day in near-freezing temperature. The bathroom had an onsen and 2 shower heads. There's a sign on the outside informing those not wishing to share the shower that it's already occupied. The onsen was scalding hot, and that is the proper temperature per Japanese tradition, but it might be a bit much to those uninitiated with Japanese onsen. The two common toilets were adequate for the number of people staying at the inn the night we were there. There was never a line to use the shower, nor for the toilets. Nevertheless, those guests who are used to a toilet attached to every hotel room might be disappointed. Our double room was large and comfortable. We slept on tatami mats as this is a ryokan, not a Western-style hotel. The inn was decorated with an abundance of memorabilia from many of the owners' happy customers, of which I count as one. 民宿主人是一對老夫婦，非常熱情與友善，對待房客就像對待子女般，房間布置溫馨且非常乾淨，有種回到家的感覺。離開民宿當日因下著雨，民宿男主人主動說要開車載我到車站，讓人十分感動! さらに表示
