We drove to the ryokan and they provide valet service and free parking. The spa was really small, probably only for 2 people at any one time, however, the spa at their sister hotel alpina was one of the best I have encountered in Kyoto hotels! Ths staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are abit small and it is cramp and hard to move about in the room in the evenings and mornings after the futons are laid. the hallway and the room has very strong smell of bbq food, which is minus since it makes it uncomfortable to sleep in, maybe hotel should make it a point to air and remove smells from the rooms and hallways さらに表示

that was our first time at traditional ryokan of Japan. it's pretty big but the room was small than I expected. but all the crews are kind and gentle. full step dinner called 'Kaiseki' was perfect, too. also we enjoyed sister hotel's rooftop Onsen. it's not far from Ryokan seiryu. and the town was calm at night time but vividly fulled with little crowd at day time. さらに表示

We booked a room only and are very happy. The room is perhaps a little small by Western standards but when in Japan... Certainly a good opportunity to stay in a more traditional inn. The onsen downstairs is tiny, the advantage being you will probably have it to yourself. You can use the sister hotel onsen nearby on the rooftop which is great except the pools were fairly disgusting by Japanese standards さらに表示

In Hirayu Onsen, this seems like a great place. Very friendly family staff with dinner and breakfast options in a wonderful small onsen town. It's not a place that you will want to just tour around for more than a day, but if you want a base for wonderful day trips with hiking, this is a great location. さらに表示

this ryokan is very near to bus station, easy to find and easy to walk to attractive place. the staffs were very kind and helpful as normal Japanese people:) . the onsen is small but has everything inside. the good thing was there provided a very impressive dinner for us. about the room, it's a bit small but ok. overall we're in love in Japan. さらに表示

You have to remove your shoes once you enter the hotel. Staff will wipe all your luggage wheels to ensure cleanliness of the carpet. Food is awesome. Breakfast was good too. Near to many places of interest. さらに表示

I was in the onsen with a parent and a kid. The kid looked like she is about 4-6 years old and when the parent put her into the hot tub, she was screaming loudly. I think hotel should restrict parent bringing in kids that are too young for onsen. さらに表示

Room was nice and staff friendly. We didn't had any meals here so can't comment. But the ryokan is near Suzuya restaurant which seems quite highly recommended. Only less desirable thing is onsen bath is very small. But guests can use the onsen facilities at hotel alpina (abt 5 mins) walk away where onsen facilities are larger. さらに表示

Excellent service staff who helped us to check in and brought our luggage to our room. She gave us a tour of our room (which was huge, as it had an attached bathroom). When we asked for recommendation for good places to eat, she helped us locate the restaurants on an English map so that we were able to find our directions easily. We tried 2 of the 3 recommendations and they were excellent. The service was great and consumables were replenished every day. The tatami mats were kept each morning and set up each night, so staff would come by and help us tidy up the room, replenish the snacks, green tea, yukata, bathing essentials, etc. Even water in the thermos was topped up each day, together with a flask of ice water. Wifi is only available in the lobby, so if you need internet access, it is only available in the lobby. There is onsen available at the hotel. Personally, it is rather small and it would feel quite packed if there's more than 3 or 4 people there. Otherwise, it is very functional. However, it is important to note that they offer free access to the onsen of their sister hotel, which is a 5-minute walk from the ryokan. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the ryokan and would not hesitate to recommend this ryokan to anyone heading to takayama for a holiday. The service is excellent and seats at a central location. さらに表示

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room they have given us was also enormous. It's probably double the size of average rooms in Japan. It's also very well kept and clean. Everyday there will be staff coming in at 7:30pm without fail to setup our beds. There's a small onsen at the ground floor but even if it's full you can walk to their sister spa hotel FOC to use the facilities. This was our favourite hotel in our Japan trip and we will definitely stay here again if we visit Takayama さらに表示

Having previously stayed at a 5 star ryokan, this place was a let down but it was not entirely the management's fault. Room was small for the Japanese-style standard room. Wanted to eat at the ryokan but a staff member said that they do not cater to vegetarians. Stayed at the 5th floor and the hallway permeated with the smell of HIda Beef. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Ryokan Seiryu Hotel: the staff is wonderful, the ryokan features a nice public bath, and the location is ideal. I would definitely stay here again, but I did think it a bit pricy compared to other hotels and ryokans in Takayama. さらに表示

Ryokan is good. They have a good coffee machine at the lobby the produce very good coffee. it's the best thing you wanted each time you come back from the cold weather outside.. It is well located about 10 minutes walk from the train station. All the attractions are also easy access from the hotel. さらに表示

It u wanna enjoy the original local resident culture during u'r trip in Japan,this hotel is a good choice. Its not very far from the station of JR Takayama,and you can walk to all sights form the hotel in Takayama. さらに表示
