It is probably quite typical of Japanese inns that it was a bit noisy at night due to thin partition. The owner seemed a bit reserved. Either she didn't understand me completely or didn't wish to mind my luggage till the afternoon after I had checked out in the morning. さらに表示

This accommodation is cheap and you get what you pay for. It's a traditional experience without the bells an whistles so don't expect more than a bed and basic facilities. Beds were not the most comfortable (even compared to other Japanese futons) so would not recommend if you have a bad back! さらに表示

Stayed for 1 night in October 2016. Very clean, pleasant Ryokan an easy walk from the train station and areas of interest in Takayama. Stairs were steep and narrow which made carrying luggage up and down difficult, and the futons were quite thin which was hard on the body, we woke up very stiff. I would recommend asking for a room away from the road and not next to the toilets or bathroom if sensitive to noise. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Generous space for the room rate. Good access to train station and the attraction, all within 5-10minutes walk (Takayama is not exactly a big place). The host is friendly and helpful. さらに表示

We stayed three nights at Ryokan Takayama and would definitely stay there again. The room was comfortable and the extra services were much appreciated. There were separate hot baths for men and women and complimentary yukatas to use. The owner provided a special great each afternoon as well as hot tea. They allowed us to store our luggage after check out time. It was easy to walk to the ryokan from the bus stop and to the local attractions. さらに表示
