If you just want to rest and enjoy your private time at your room with a hot bath with a great view, this is the hotel. It is located at the northern hill of Yufuin, you may need a car or shuttle ready to get their conveniently. As the balcony and the bath give the fantastic view to the city and mountain, if you want to be away from all the travellers in the city, this is the place. You should book Kaiseki at the booking stage, otherwise, your go-show request for it would be declined which appears to be a normal practice. Although I stayed the room alone, the room with the private bath should also be good for couples. The kaiseki and breakfast came with good quantity and quality but do not expect something super duper excellent. What I was so happy was that there were decent coffee & drink dispenser around the hotel which are free! I would be definitely going there again if I had a chance. さらに表示

this private onsen is awesome at affordable price! the room is spacious, more spacious than how it looks from the photos here. We had bfast and dinner in the hotel, the dishes are all good! but the location may not be too convenient for travelers that are not driving. さらに表示

The main reason I book the place isnthe private bath as I am not accustomed to Japanese public bath. It is a small ryokan with 5 rooms, adjacent to their cake shop & factory. The room is quite spacious with patio and breathtaking view. The location is quite far when you drag along your luggage, I recommend taking a taxi at 1000 jpy. I chose this hotel esp for the private bath, and I can say that it is absolutely great, as we enjoy mount Yufu right from our bed and bath. The room is quite big, with twin beds, plus a patio. A tax free cake shop owned by the family is adjacent, so you will be spoiled for choice of cakes or cookies. If you bring some luggage, better take a taxi from the station, but enjoy a walk down otherwise as you will get country roads with a breathtaking view and may stumbled upon gardens. The view and private spa were nice. Dinner and breakfast were fair and could be better. The location of the hostel is quite far away from train station or bus terminal, but the staff members were so kind that they gave a free ride that solved this issue. さらに表示

Room closest to entrance is noisy at night as the sounds from people talking and walking past can be heard clearly. There was also a constant humming sound in the room that kept us from having a good nights sleep. On the plus side, we happened to visit when there was a thick blanket of snow(Jan 2016) so the tub was lovely. さらに表示

Great location if you are driving. Quite, clean and have private onsen in the room. My mum left her shirt in the room during check out 8 July 16, cannot find email to contact the Ryokan to send it back to Malaysia, anybody? さらに表示

The hot spring was perfect with brilliant view. However, the room was quite small, so it's not suit for more than one hard cover suitcase. There's only stairs to the restaurant for breakfast. Nevertheless, the food's very yummy. You can also get discounts to purchase おみやげ there. さらに表示

If you have young children ( i.e. infant, toddler), this would be an ideal place to house all under one roof. Your family have access to your own private onsen and shower facilities. Though we had a city view, the room was spacious, overlooked the town (whilst maintaining your privacy) and we could see the mount yufu from our balcony as well.
