Staff was fantastic. All of them speaks English, what is very appreciated in Japan. They provided 5 star service. I really liked their uniforms (kimono). You can book free shuttle from yudanaka Station what is very convenient for people with lot of baggage. My room was very spacious and I especially liked red cover on kusatsu. Onsen water was too hot for me and it took me a while to entry there. I liked outside onsen. Food was like piece of art. I couldn't take enough pictures. So delicious and healthy. I also appreciate that the offered me food of my friend, who couldn't join me last minute. I would just change paper oshibori for hot towel ones. さらに表示

Everything about or 2 night stay at Suminoyu was perfect. Staff were able to answer any questions we had and help out with dinner reservations, bus transfers, luggage transfer etc. We purchased the cloth which you can get stamped at each onsen from the hotel for 350 yen. It is the same cost as other local stores. They provided free yucata/robe and geta rental so you can walk around the onsens in Japanese style. They were able to pick us up and drop back to the station, as well as one way to the monkey park. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. さらに表示

The hotel is located at the end of the street, which is still convenient for us as we drive. It is quiet and peaceful. The lady at the counter can speak English and is very polite. The onset on the top floor is clean and tidy. When we checked out we were served with coffee at the lobby. The service is wonderful. さらに表示

This place was really nice. With the snow and onsens and snow monkeys. They were really nice in dropping us off at the monkey forest and then dropping off our bags in town. If you're in the mood to just relax and hear the snow fall on to the ground kinda ambience you're in for a treat. The food was ok. I had some dietary restrictions so I could not eat all of it but the ones I tasted was wonderful. The staff was really nice and helpful. Even the room was wamed up for our arrival. It was great. 5-star service from check-in to check-out. Breakfast & dinner which were included was totally unexpected - 5 star food & service! Stay of 1 night was too short as hotel is located at the onsen village. Even at short notice, we were picked up at the train station. Free shuttle to Jigokudani Monkey Park. Homely, staff are excellent, food is fresh, a bit far from Yudanaka station but accessible to bus stop, shuttle service, close to Jigokudani snow monkey park. Amazing ryokan which is run, and had, a family personable feel to it. Great location in Shibu Onsen to try all 9 public hot spring baths (good fortune if you do them all!) as well as see the snow monkeys in Jigokudani monkey park. Delicious dinner and breakfast included in ryokan price which made it very good value. Also free shuttle to and from Yudanaka station and to monkey park. さらに表示

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was perhaps our favourite stop in our entire Japan trip. Both dinner and breakfast meals were amazing and the onsens were the perfect compliment to the incredible food available. All of the staff were extremely nice and helpful (offering great tips on things to do--including seeing the snow monkeys--as well as picking up and dropping us off at the train station).
