館内はゆったりとした雰囲気で高級感があります。ラウンジで頂いたウェルカムティーや、朝のコーヒーもおいしかったです。大浴場の前はバーカウンターとテラスがあり、お風呂あがりにゆっくりできます。また、貸切の離れのお風呂も利用しましたが、少し森の中を歩いて向かうので隠れ家感があり、雰囲気も素敵でした。 駅から宿までは遠いですが、送迎があるのでとても助かります。ゆったりした時間を過ごしたい方におすすめです。 さらに表示

Special bday occasion for my daughter & myself. Everything was spectacular & exceeded our expectations fm the kaiseki dinner to the extravagant buffet breakfast, our huge tatami room w/luxurious futon beds, & welcoming, professional staff. We even had a complementary shuttle to see fire flies! The onsen ambience blew us away; pictures on website cannot fully encompass its true beauty & serenity. The toiletries were first class quality; our skin glowed & hair felt like silk. The distance is well worth it. If your looking for authentic Jpns ambience, this is it. I was impressed how they were able to modernize w/out losing rustic feel. The most memorable bday ever. I totally fell in love w/this hidden gem! さらに表示

This is my first time to kameoka. First I was worrying the place will be remote, in fact, it's quite easy to access by JR, hotel will arrange shuttle bus pick up. However, if they can add few more shifts will be perfect ! Very nice staff. Good food, good service good place. The secret onsen is funny, you won't be miss if you choose this hotel👍🏻 さらに表示

Absolutely loved experiencing this place with my mum for the night. No need for a private onsen if you are not a couple as the place is very private anyway. It was nice to dress up in local Japanese clothes and experience the pretty culture. We stayed one night and it was a perfect amount of time before we moved on to Kyoto. さらに表示

We were amazed by the the hospitality of the Ryokan. The staff was great and polite and very accommodating. Two of us in the group were vegetarians and so we were very happy when the staff went out all the way to make our Japanese dining experience for dinner and breakfast an amazing one. This is a nice Ryokan in very quite surroundings. I even saw wild deer from my room, and it's also beside a small stream. Do arrange for pickup with them as this place is not easy to get to by yourself. Booking the private onsen (hot spring) was the highlight of my stay as you get to experience bathing in the open among nature. Dinner and breakfast was nice but I did have higher standards. Beware of the gift store as there are a lot of things you can buy, from souvenirs to their own produced food products. さらに表示

A one-night stay at Sumiya Kiho-An was the perfect way to end our trip to Japan. The location is not as remote as I thought as it is near a highway on the outskirts of a decent-sized town, but once inside you forget your surroundings. The staff was very friendly and proficient in English. The room was nice and clean. The public outdoor bath was really relaxing, and we also took advantage of the outdoor private reserved bath, which was amazing and even better that you could have it all to yourself! さらに表示

Excellent service, the staff are welcoming and friendly. I stayed for only one night but wished I stayed longer! The private man-made onsen is perfect for those like me that had never tried this and too shy to have strangers around. It's a peaceful short walk to the private onsen and after that, I had the courage to try the public onsen which I also had for myself as there were no other guest at the time. Definitely worth getting out of Kyoto for relaxing. さらに表示

I love break fast and the dinner at the place . Highly recommence u to try private bath onsen either , it's alot better than public onsen . You better book in advance for public bath . However , the ryokan is about 8/10 compare to their photo . さらに表示

It was a great experience to stay at Sumiya Kihoan! Nice delicious dinner and breakfast and a cozy room. Especially I really love outdoor onsen(hot spring). It treated my skin so nicely. Actually it was a little accident during my stay, when i was at outdoor onsen I fell on the floor then my both legs are hurted. As soon as I talked reception staff, she treated me so carefully even at midnight. She brought some cool patches and things to heal my legs from drugstore where is miles awy from the ryokan. I deeply appreciate lovely kindess and help. Definitely, I stronly recommend Sumiya Kiho An For an amazing experience in Kyoto! さらに表示

Modern ryokan with stylishly designed landscaping. Rooms are a good size. Staff service was fantastic. The hotel babysitted my cousin who injured her back during the trip in my absence, ferried her from the other hotel and checked her in early. Nice but relatively small onsen さらに表示

We only got to stay a night and it was a treat. I've been to quite a few hot springs and this was remarkable without being pretencious. It was smaller in size but it added to its quaintness. Too bad it was beside the highway. The staff and service was amazing. I would definitely come back. さらに表示

To be honest we didn't really know what we were booking. Pros - a fantastic authentic Japanese ryokan experience. Meticulous service and traditional food. Stunning onsen. Beautiful tatami accommodation. Cons - remote. It's pretty much a place where you check in and stay. To get out you have to take their 20 min shuttle bus then a 20 min train. And if you're not used to such attentive service it can be uncomfortable. Great experience for us but it's not for everyone. さらに表示

I think everyone should visit Sumiya Kiho-an Ryokan and experience what I had experienced. I must applaud the staff there, they were the most friendliest, kind, professional and helpful staff member I could ever ask for. They went above and beyond my expectations in every best was possible!! I even would to send my gratitude by offering a generous tip (though was not accepted) I believe they are worth every yen. The place, facilities, rooms was a perfect mix of modern and traditional Japanese architecture, it gives off a very graceful and calm feel. Finally the food was not only presented very well however it also tasted like royalty, there was a combination of food which matched every dish. I had an incredibly good stay at Sumiya Kiho-an, Since it wasnt long enough, I will surely have to visit again, I am sure there is much more to it than what I ave experienced. There is the shuttle bus available at the bus station when you get off the train, just go to the information center and they will contact the hotel for you. Very nice staff and wonderful private hot spring spot. The only thing is the food is very traditional (may be not to foreigners' taste..) さらに表示
