I start with a tip for travellers booking this hotel. When you leave Tonosawa train station, DO NOT go down the stairs all the way to the street! Go along the pathway till you get to a fork, and go up the hill! There is no sign to point to the hotel from the train station. Avoid big/heavy luggage if you are coming by train. Once you reach the hotel, you will not want to leave. We liked the private outdoor onsen but missed having a proper shower stall. We did not take any meals here as they do not serve vegetarian meals. さらに表示

I was more than happy with my stay at this hotel. It was easy to access from the Tonosawa Rail Station. The facilities were clean and well maintained. My room had a private outdoor tub, and it was very relaxing. The meals (dinner and breakfast) were both fantastic. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling through Hakone. さらに表示

Location is very near to Hakone-Yumoto station, up on a hill providing privacy & quietness for relaxation. As mention in other reviews, taking a taxi from station is the correct decision. Once we are luggage free, it was easy to navigate around. Dinner was fantastic, food was plenty with free flow of beverage including beer! Ryokan has indoor & outdoor onsen, great for relaxation after full day of activities. Breakfast was another great meal. さらに表示

Great ryokan. I have a fish allergy and they were able to adjust for it. The staff speaks English well enough that travelers without Japanese language skills will be comfortable. The private onsen tub is fabulous. One warning for those who might not realize it: private onsen tub rooms do not have a shower or bathtub; you will be bathing Japanese style, standing on the balcony. I love this aspect of the ryokan (it's one of the reasons I go here), but some Westerners are put off by not having a "shower" or a bathing place aside from Japanese style bathing option. さらに表示

was our first time trying this type of accomadation, was worth the extra for the private bath as this was very nice, the set meal was worth the experience. Is walking distance to the train station but is a mission with suitcases さらに表示

The stay is excellent. I extremely enjoyed the food served. Portion were big and delicious. Onsen experience is great too except the outdoor onsen might be quite dirty. Besides the many staircases that you will come accross before reaching the hotel, the overall experience is good. さらに表示

love the private mini onsen! enjoy the shabu shabu dinner and enjoy japanese style breakfast! location is close to Hakone Yumoto train station (took a short taxi ride (recommend with luggage), otherwise it's about 10mins walk from Tounosawa train station but with lots of stairs or steep slope). room is big, comfortable! we enjoy our stay! さらに表示

Really big room. The dinner and breakfast are Japanese style, fantastic. 5 mins walk to train station. You can arrange lugguage delivery at Hakone Yumoto train station to hotel then you can go for the round trip around Hakone without burden. Only way back from hotel to Hakone Yumoto need to carry the lugguage. But the steps are most downwards then and there's slope at right side. It's not so difficult for lugguage carrying. No free shuttle bus to Hakone Yumoto. Train is the best solution. さらに表示

This hotel is good. It's because its price is cheap but it can still provide good quality services!! Say for example, a private hot spring. =) Also, The staff is very nice and helpful.I love the japnese style ta-ta-me bed. I would recommend this hotel to my fd. The Ichiniyu Shinkan was amazing and is great for a couple/romantic getaway in the Hakone hotsprings area! It was a fantastic value for a room with a private outdoor hot spring tub, and dinner and breakfast was included. The dinner was a sumptuous feast (sashimi boat for two + shabushabu + at least 5 appetizers + all-you-can-drink alcohol on tap) and the traditional Japanese-style breakfast was delicious and a fun experience. The private balcony bath in our room was a bit of a tight fit for two people, but was very clean and refills automatically with hot spring water (plus the balcony has a great view of the woods and mountains!). The public onsen bathing area is also spacious and clean. The only downside is that the ryokan is up a large hill from the Hakone-Yumoto station, so it’s best to take a taxi to get there. さらに表示

Big rooms and great meal services. The food is nice. Need to book with the meal package to truly enjoy the stay. Onsen is standard setup, not a full fledge onsen. The indoor onsen is supper hot and the out door is acceptable. But one need to cross the indoor onsen before able to go to the out door. さらに表示

The ryokan is located on the hill. You will have to go through stairs from the train station. Keep in mind for those who has big suitcases that the ryokan has no elevator! The room is simple but the bed is comfortable. The private outdoor onsen is so relaxing and really nice to have! Dinner and breakfast were also very good. During dinner you can drink all you want. They have water, tea, coffee, soft drinks, sake, etc. It is also nice that they have how-to-eat instructions for breakfast and dinner. They provide yukata and slippers to wear. Beautiful walk to the inn from the Tonosawa Station. They let us drop our bags with them before the check in time so we could tour around Hakone. Unfortunately, they did not ask us if we would like to reserve a table for dinner so we missed that opportunity and ate dinner at the other inn nearby which was very good as well. Breakfast was phenomenal - we stayed at several inns and ryokans - this was by far the best! We loved our stay. さらに表示

Fantastic breakfast and dinner - a real experience of authentic Japanese food and the set dinner was excellent value for money. Private bath was great as well as communal baths - instructions for how to do it properly were a great help! Really comfortable room. Only slight drawback was that it was a bit tricky to reach with suitcases so would recommend a taxi from Hakone Yamamoto for anyone not keen on steep steps. But location also added to atmosphere. Everything was perfect except for the public bath. A group of Chinese guests did not follow any bathing etiquette. My friend and I have noticed that they entered the bath without scrubbing themselves clean in the washing area. What's worse, a child from their group was peeing in the washing area, which was very disgusting to me, so I ran out immediately. When I was in the changing room, I further noticed that the child who had just peed was playing with another child from the same group with the shower head. At that moment, the whole bathing and washing area was like hell. Next time I will choose somewhere with fewer Chinese guests. さらに表示
