The room is simple, clean and neat but the view is magnificent. The view from the restaurant is equally good. However, it is still better to catch the fireworks from outside the hotel. There are various points for foot spa along the lake. さらに表示

The hot spring offers a good view of the lake and Mt Yotei. However, they do not have any sauna or cold baths
The beef at dinner was very good but otherwise the other dishes are average to below average. We were served salmon sashimi that was not properly defrosted (there were still ice within the meat) which was very disappointing given that sashimi was something we really looked forward to. First of all, poor and old facilities. There are no hair dryer in the room. You must need to dry your hair at the public bathroom and seeing everyone’s naked body. Secondly, since I am not the first time to stay in a Japanese-style hotel. There is a tradition that the tatami bed will be prepared when the guests are having their dinner. However, this hotel isn’t. Even I called the front desk staff. No one can answer since they have no one to speak English at 22:00. Thirdly, it is full of tour tourists and it is very noisy. If you are finding a place for relaxation, please don’t come here. I am very regret why I book this accommodation. I should have pay more to find a better hotel.
Lastly, I am very disappointed with the dining. Or say, everything is below standard. The salmon is disgusting. I may say only the oranges can eat. Please don’t come here or you may regret. さらに表示

A great place to stay with young kids as the hotel have rooms to accommodate family guests. Great view and a plus point for having hot spring which open 24 hours a day (located at top floor) with amazing view. Buffet meals are provided together with accommodation which is not bad. Local bus stop (Donan Bus) just opposite the hotel entrance which you can ride to JR Station. 7 Eleven and drug store within walking distance. さらに表示

Great lobby. Pity was not given room with a view. But a good dinner spread and friendly staff compensated. Clean room with a superbly comfortable futon. They even have bingo at the lobby to keep you entertained in the evenings. さらに表示

The hotel location was good, the room has a breathtaking view of the lake. There is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel, making getting around convenient for those who don’t drive.
However the staff weren’t very friendly and helpful.. expect large crowds of tour groups at the hotel too. さらに表示

The only reason I would stay at this onsen hotel again is because of the amazing rooftop onsen. One part of the onsen is located on the outdoor rooftop with individual sized tubs to soak in, which is great for people like me who are shy to soak in the same pool/tub as other strangers. The onsen is open pretty much 24 hours except for a few hours where they clean the onsen area and switch the male and female onsen signs. I went at around 11pm and it was completely empty. Soaking in the hotspring waters outdoors while there were light snow flurries was a really awesome experience. I have no complaints about my Japanese style room where I slept on tatami mats. My room also had a balcony facing Mount Usu and Lake Toya. Another great thing about this hotel is they provide free shuttle to and from Sapporo station. さらに表示

Beautiful view of the lake from our room! The lobby also has mirror walls so you can see the lake from there. But the hotel is a bit old. It needs renovation. The room is old but clean. The staff at front desk are nice and accommodating. But the food is basic. Few options. They should improve the food served during buffet. さらに表示

The location is nice. You can walk to the lake! It’s literally in front of the beautiful Lake Toya that can also be seen through the window of the room. The staff at the front desk are nice and pleasant. They also have a shuttle bus going to Chitose airport for a minimum price of 1000 yen - reserve your bus seat beforehand as it gets quite full. The room is clean albeit the structure’s a bit old. I wish the buffet dinner have more choices like gyoza or shrimp tempura or yakiniku. It was still a pleasant stay though. I went with a very low expectation as I read some negative reviews. I personally think that they are totally wrong!!!
My group consists of 3 families with a total of 13 pax (4 children). We totally enjoyed our stay and want to be back again.
The hotel location is very strategic. You can enjoy watching the 3 series of fireworks in just a few steps to e lake or from your room. Always wait for e grand finale of every series of fireworks with e 1st one beig e best.
The tatami room is huge. The onsen is fantastic! We love the outdoor tubes. Visit e onsen during night & day as e hotel switch between Female & Male onsen so that guests get to experience both.
The Bingo game at e lobby (8pm) was fun! Pay JPY500 for a Bingo coupon to play.
There are sufficient parking lots right opp the hotel and 7-eleven is right next to the hotel.
The breakfast & dinner buffet spread are great too!
The staff are very friendly and went the extra mile to help us.

My family and I booked the free shuttle bus service from JR Station to Toya Kohantei Hotel. Although I tried to send and waited for a confirmation mail from hotel that I completely reserved my seats on the shuttle bus already, but there was no replied-mail. So I asked the another hotel that I stayed call to Toya Kohantel Hotel for confirmation, I just knew that my seats were reserved already. Exception about I complained, I liked everything about this hotel. Its location closed to convenient store, souvenir local shop, the Lake view, Nice Onsen, and the illumination tunnel (a illumination festival in the winter).
They switched between the lady and gentleman onsen in the night and day time. The hotel provided the bingo game for customer (had to pay the bingo ticket first; 500 yens), it was fun. さらに表示

Very comfortable place to stay. In fact, it's not a must to stay at lake view room for watching fireworks, it is better to go down for a 270°C view from various angles. Good to have shuttle bus to/from Sapporo JR Station which requires reservations. However, no feedback when I email the reservations request in English 7 days and 5 days before arrival date, until I translated it into Japanese 4 days before, they confirmed me in this Japanese email reservations. さらに表示

We booked the Japanese room style, which comes with choice of 2 single beds and space for sleeping on tatami map. The hotel provide dinner and breakfast with lots of variety. The best thing I like about this hotel was their outdoor onsen, overseeing the lake. It was a real relaxation from the busy city I came from. The location is good as it faces the lake and at night we can view the fireworks. There is a family mart which is just 1min walk from the hotel. Good choice to stay here! さらに表示

We had a great time at this hotel. The rooms were huge for two pax, and could easily fit four instead. No complaints about the service, which was good throughout. Room rate inclusive of buffet breakfast and buffet dinner, and they tasted great ( except the dessert).
The lobby was big with many sofas to lounge around if u don't want to stay in the room. Free wifi in the lobby only. My only complaint about the lobby was that it was too cold in winter.....they really kept the heating in the public places in this hotel to a minimum.
The hotel, and my rooms had a great view of the lake and Mount Yotei.
The hot spring bath was spacious and never felt too crowded. The outdoor bath is a must try on a winter day....sitting in the outdoor tub facing the lake....just fabulous!
another plus.....there was no bus loads of tourists during our stay here.....hence the hotel had a more resort and quieter feel.

I am very disappointed with the quality of the food provided by the hotel. Frankly speaking I do not expect that I will have the same bad experience as the other. What I can tell you is that this is not really 4 stars Japanese standard hotel. I have spent time in many hotels in japan. I was wandering that how come that the Managennent of the hotel let F&B damage hotel reputation. I do not believe all comments in review , I think it could be bias or not fair to the hotel. But believe me , you will never forget your stay . Please don’t think I am eating lover. Some hotel provide breakfast & dinner sufficient and meet the price that you pay. Oh about to forget , hotel should ask engineer to get rid off smell from the drain pipe. I think they failed to install P-Trap to block smell in the pipe. Not really good!! I was in Niseko, Noboribetsu and Hakodate in the same trip. All other hotel s really impressed. You may try and share your experience. さらに表示
