The ski/snowboard wear and gear rental at special price for in house guests, above mid range quality. Big Breakfast at 500 yen in 4 selections, no way you can find any at that price outside. Complimentary freshly grind coffee bean and tea provided daily. The meal inclusive plan amazing portion and tasty ......... great value! I was injured at the ski field, the host, Mazaki-san came to hospital by his car, helped me to carry all the ski equipment and fetched me "home" safely in the snowing day. My heartfelt thanks to Mazaki-san's kind assistance and generosity . The room facilities is minimum, warm and comfortable futon bed if you don't mind sleeping on the tatami mat flooring. Highly recommend this place and Nozawa Onsen - snow quality as good as Niseko, the small town and scenery is way more beautiful with character and more "Japan" than Niseko - it has already become a very over priced ski area and a foreigner town in every winter! さらに表示

Wafu Pension's Pluses - Near the Nagasaka Gondola - Near Village Bus Shuttle Station - Walkable to the 2 other Ski Slopes of the village (1.Nagasaka, 2. Hikage and 3Karasawa... Nagasaka is just at the back of Wafu Pension. Very very near. - It is also very walkable to the u-Road which is a gigantic escalator that takes you up the base of the 2ndHikage ski slopes - Yummy meals at competitive prices with village restaurants. You can have Breakfast and Dinner) and pay at about the same price range. NO need to walk and look for restaurants. - Wafu's Snowboards and skis, jackets/goggles etc are all available at cheapest price. We compared with other rental shops and Wafu's prices was one of the lowest if not the - The final leg of the trip was a bus ride from IIyama Train Station to Nozawaonsen Chuo Bus Terminal. The owner picked us up from the bus station. Wafu Pension was actually near and walkable, but the pick-up saved us the trouble finding Wafu Pension for the first time orientation. - For the trip back to Iiyama-Nagano we walked the short distance to the Nozawaonsen Chuo Bust Terminal as owner not available that day. Great location, close to Nagasaka Gondola and not far from the main road and onsen. Cheap, yummy breakfast options and rentals too. Always ate out for dinner so can't advise. It can be a bit noisy as the walls are thin so if you're a light sleeper, you'll most likely be woken by another group or random getting in late. Overall, we enjoyed our time here while boarding and skiing for the week. さらに表示

Stayed a week with my family over Chinese New Year, had a very nice stay overall. Pros: good location just 5 minutes from the slopes and near the village centre, very friendly staff (picked us and dropped us at the bus station), good, simple and value for money breakfast and dinner and good on-site ski equipment rental. Cons: Bathing facilities a bit small but we only had to wait once out of eight nights. Japanese style sitting but got used to it and enjoyed the local experience very much. さらに表示

The owners and staff at Wafu couldn't have been more helpful. They had prepared information in English which was very helpful. Breakfast was good value and excellent. There is "real" coffee out of a great machine in the morning and afternoon. The room (207) was a typical tatami room but had a mezzanine floor which worked out great for the kids ( older kids as it has steep stairs and a low balcony). Ski hire was excellent and good value. The walk to the gondola was only 5 minutes and easy. The in-house Onsen was not too hot and private but small. There are so many public Onsen though that it's fun to go out. The owner kindly offers free lifts to the bus stop at the end of your stay. The only improvements I could suggest is a big clear sign saying the name Wafu and it would be nice to have a social room to relax in and meet other visitors. さらに表示

Simple, clean and pleasant stay. Nice breakfast, lovely Japanese style facilities. Very close walk up the hill to main gondola, and a nice easy stroll down the hill to centre of the village. If you are westerner, don't expect western facilities. But if you like and respect Japanese style accommation, this is an excellent place to stay. さらに表示

We travelled with 4 teen boys and stayed at Wafu for 4 nights. It was comfortable and provided pancakes each morning for boys , great bonus!! The pension was small so there always seemed to be free onsen , room to boot up for skiing and close to Nagasaka Gondola Station. さらに表示
