I believe that out of the many attractions Nagano has to offer, the Snow Monkey Park, skiing/snowboarding as well as bathing in an onsen rank amongst the top few. Staying in Yamazakiya Ryokan makes for an excellent opportunity to do all three, not only due to its convenient location - but more so because of Akira & Yumi's hospitality. They gave me rides to the Snow Monkey Park and back, as many other travellers have described on here likewise. Moreover, I was recommended to visit Ryuoo Ski Park - a lovely place where I first learnt to ski. Akira would kindly discuss with me my plan for each day, providing me with details of shuttle bus timings etc. and offering to fetch me to Yudanaka station (from which free shuttle rides bring you to the ski park). Because of Akira & Yumi's kindness I had an extremely fruitful and enjoyable stay in Nagano. Here's hoping that this review will do them justice! さらに表示

Hosts of this ryokan are very friendly and their English is very good. Foods are incrediblly good. Staying at this place can enjoy both Shibuonsen & Andai onsen which is really great. さらに表示
