Just something to take note if you don’t take beef/horse, please inform front desk staff upfront because we were served beef during our kaiseki dinner, and they weren’t flexible enough in helping us swap the beef with other options. In the end, we have to purchase chicken meat in addition. さらに表示

We stayed 2 nights here. Very good hotel. We booking Mt.Yufu view and it’s nice. Also we have experience both public & private onsen. But no more reservation for private onsen, just look on Inroom TV and will show the onsen available or not. Then run as fast as possible to the onsen because someone may looking for also. Both breakfast and dinner is great. Staffs very nice and helpful. Only one thing we don’t know before is NO BATHROOM in the room.. so we have to take a bath at the onsen which located on the opposit side our room. さらに表示

In addition to hot spring and breakfast/dinner set included, they try to offer some musical performance in their hotel. With the selection of Western bedroom type, there are private bathroom. The food are nice and the staff are very helpful. There are free shuttle bus arrangement upon calling at the station. And there are 2 private hot spring section that can be shared to use. When I arrive hotel , my relative have some medical need and their manager help us for the ambulance and pick up us in the hospital , and save the dinner for us, it is great when experience difficulties in countryside. As we are the foreigners, I am so appreciate when they did for us . They are not only provide the hotel service , but also experienced their wonderful culture. I need to thank all of them again さらに表示

Room was big and very clean. Great Coffee machine provided in the room. Staff was super attentive to our needs. They can read what you need and be ready for you even before you asked for it. E.g. they knew I need to go outside to my car, and before I reach the hotel door, they placed my shoe right at the doorstep. The outdoor onsen was stunning. さらに表示

Staff were very welcoming and obviously took pride in the ryokan. They spoke enough English to accommodate us comfortably. The sign from the road was difficult since it was all Japanese (mostly stylized kanji). Private onsens were good, but essentially had to wait in line for them to become available. Public onsens weren’t as hot as I prefer. Dinner and breakfast were good if not amazing. Great view of Mt Yufu. Overall: good value, would stay again. さらに表示

The ryokan was traditional looking , staff were very attentive and made sure everything was impeccable and comfortable . They had a good system to use the private onsen ( first come first serve with lights to indicate they are in use and also shows it on the tv in the room ) the views of the public onsen was great . Kaiseiki dinner was delicious and the beef was one of the nicest I've tried ( could be bungo beef). Overall will recommend to anyone looking for nice ryokan experience but would advise to take the mountain view room instead as the garden view rooms looks out to the carpark and was slightly disappointing さらに表示

Based on the price for a night (as compared to the top few in Yufu), inclusive of kaiseki dinner and breakfast and their onsen with a view, this place was one of my top picks while deciding on ryokans in Yufu. The service was by Japanese standards, the food was mind-blowingly amazing (room price includes the standard course dinner but you can write in to the hotel to top up for the premium set), the outdoor onsen was just as i imagined and they also had 2 private onsens for booking. Note that rooms do not include shower so it is normal for bathes at the onsen. You will not regret the view that comes. さらに表示

It was second visit Saigakukan for me. Host was very kind like always, food was great also, room was clean. I recommend the mountain view room even if you have to pay more. Garden view room was a bit dark and cold. This time I stayed in garden view room, the first visit I chose the mountain view room. I am quite regretful. さらに表示

We stayed at Yufunogo Saigakukan on our first night in Yufuin. The hotel dining area has a lovely view. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable since it includes dinner and breakfast. Dinner is a nice kaiseki meal. We came with our friends and their family in a total of 12 people including kids - so they set a big table for us in a private dining area. The room we stayed was the Garden view room. It comes with a toilet room and a wash basin in the dressing area, but without the bathroom. We need to go to the onsen for bath. There is a public and 2 private onsen where you can use with your family or friends. It is on a first come first serve basis. It's pretty nice with outdoor onsen. There is a massage chair you can use in the public area as well. さらに表示

It was a pretty standard and traditional onsen ryokan. Staffs were nice and helpful, however, the room without a shower has made our stay very uncomfortable. We had a miscommunication with the hotel staff over a Facebook enquiry regarding "TOILET". Hotel mentioned there is a toilet in every room, however, the definition of "toilet" is just a "W.C", the room doesn't come with a "SHOWER". We had to walk all the way to the onsen area to take shower. It's not convenient at all. We weren't told about the housekeeping schedule, our friends were "rushed" by the housekeepers simply because they need to clean the room. We understood their responsibility, however, we think the communication method can be improved. さらに表示

Overall, the place is good as it is clean and cosy. But the scale is a bit small and not as good as expected in terms of its price and services. Unlike other place, they don't have a guest list writing on the board and welcome drink to make you feel good. They don't write your name on the menu. I chose the second round at later time for dinner and they did not arrange us a window seat. And they already set everything on a table which made me feel that the food are not fresh and they did not want you to choose other table. And just told me that it was because you come late and you could not choose other table until I strongly requested I want a window seat. But I found other couple come later than us but they could get a window seat. I told them it was my birthday on that day in advance and I could not find anything I have been treated exclusively even a birthday message or arrange a better seat for me though I did not expect too much. The another day we want to have the hot spring the second time before check-out but just found that the pool was closed but we could not find any notice and reminder for the opening hours and just the receptionist mentioned to us once when check-in. And when we still wanted to enter the common room to take some pictures, the maid was so rude. Overall, in terms of the hardware it is not bad but the service is not impressive which I believe ai can find elsewhere better that this ryokan at similar price range as I have tried different ryokan before. But if this is the first time for you, it may still be fine for you as you don't have any experience for comparison. And I believe they can do better in their service to make the guests feel good and there is room for improvement. However the private outdoor hot spring is good but no rubber band, comb or bath hat to provide except those sponsored tester products. さらに表示

This is my third time stayed in this hotel. I love its location, the osen and also the food. However, I found the quality of food is not as good as before. We stayed in 3 different hotels in Yufunin this time, Yufunogo is middle priced.
